I also have the MGW and love it. Im sure I would say the same thing if I had Steeda's. The only person that can answer your question is someone who has had or driven both...that is not I.

I have driven both an MGW and Barton back to back and the MGW was to tight for a daily driver for me but im loving my Barton.

can't beat mgw...especially when the owner and the creator installs it for free. 29 more days to go till mine's in.

I liked the design of the MGW better since it replaces all stock components but went with the Steeda because I can change the springs whenever I want without having to remove the entire shifter unit. Also, the Steeda attaches to the chassis as well as the trans which limits the amount the shifter torques during acceleration.

Either way, you're going to get a much better shifter than stock.

Weren't you having some shifting issues or something?

I feel the downfall of the Steeda is that it still uses a body mount. IMO, when the drivetrain is torquing and the back of the shifter is still attached to the body, that's when you encounter shifting issues. I'm sure it's a huge improvement over stock, but why not go with a shifter that replaces everything and is completely trans mounted to eliminate any potential shifting problems?

STEEDA's body mount is rock solid...beat up on that thing and it ain't FN-moving...period.

As been stated here before, if STEEDA didn't make a shifter, It would've been MGW...no free installs needed either.

Search for the thread titled "Steeda Tri Ax Short Throw Shifter Review" by s550_Artic_Knight:cheers:

He had both
I did read his awhile back. Its hard to take one person's review on something as the end all be all. But, I actually meant some one with these shifters for me to compare myself. LOL. Surprisingly not a lot of S550s around me, or at least modified ones I can check out.

I realized that after I posted and figured what the hell:doh:

I'll be getting the steeda's shifter shortly so I'll be able to give real world experience and impressions with the shifter then

MGW is the best mod I have done to my car hands down.

I have the MGW, it's easily the best shifter I have ever had in any car. The only NVH i hear is very very minor. can't even hear it over the exhaust, the heater/ac or anything else unless it's dead silent, and even then it's not loud, quite faint, not really a problem.

Steeda might be great, I'm sure it is, but I have no regrets and no desire at all to change.

the steeda is rock solid and does not move. it may be still body mounted but it is solid. as good as the mgw is and more and more are buying the steeda, that speaks volumes. the steeda install is pretty straight forward and gives you the option to change springs from top side of the car.
