Metallic resonating sound

Has anyone else notices a metallic resonating sound when driving? Its hard to pinpoint where it's coming from, but is more noticeable at lower speed. It might be coming from the rear diff... The best I can liken the sound to is the sound of a tuning fork after its been struck.

Are you running the stock exhaust?

The stock exhaust mid section resonator or otherwise known as suitcase is known to cause such issues.

if not stock exhaust check you have done up the exhaust hangers tightly

Just about every car I've owned has had some sort of rattle or clunk somewhere along the line... think it's just the way things are nowadays.

I also get a continual droning noise... but that always seems to disappear when the wife's not in the car.

Interesting thoughts, chaps. I was thinking it might have been coming from the rear diff, but never considered the exhaust. The exhaust is stock btw. I'll see if I can pinpoint where it's coming from next time I'm out.

sorry for dead thread revival? But im having similar issues. You say 4 exhaust hanges?? I've only ever seen two.. in the rear by the diff...where are the other two?? Might need to check those out.

I get the tuning fork hum which arrived the minute Cradle lock was fitted,do you also have this mod?.It is caused presumably by much harder mounts.Otherwise I had the tinny resonator rattle that was pretty loud to the degree that onlookers clearly heard it,fortunately after a few weeks it totally disappeared.

I'm getting a tinny vibration somewhere behind the dash but only at WOT and higher revs. Could it be the stock sound tube?

There are two coming off the diff cradle and two directly behind the end box going up behind the rear bumper
