Sorry it took a couple of days to get back to you. The dealer I work with is Varsity Lincoln. My contact is Brandon. I bought the car from their Ann Arbor dealer but this is closer to my house.Looks like you live near me, what dealership did you end up going with to fix the driveshaft?
Thanks. I saw in your other post yesterday that you had used the Varsity group and actually called the Varsity Lincoln dealer in Novi to try to make a service appointment and they asked me what kind of car and problem and when I told them, they said they couldn't service it and I would need to take it to Varsity Ford in Ann Arbor.....which as you know, isn't that close.Sorry it took a couple of days to get back to you. Thanks. I called and he is on vacation. They asked if anyone else could help and I said I wasn't sure, that I was referred to Brandon by someone who he had helped with a service issue for their Mustang and I promptly got "Oh, I am not sure we can service Mustangs....".Talk to Brandon. You can use my name. He may be able to give you some suggestions.
Well, if you’re having trouble getting good service in corporates backyard, I’d say that’s an issue.Thanks. It's honestly every dealership I have tried. Completely different dealership than the one that I had the debacle with for my GT.
And as an extra kick in the arse, most of their appointments are weeks out to even get it looked at (or in my case not really looked at because in 3 days that they had it, they didn't even go as far as taking a wheel off).
If anyone has any recommendations for a good dealership in the Metro Detroit suburban area, I would love to hear it.
As in, how much? Do you have any tools and a floor jack?I am not really mechanically inclined,
Nope, no floor jack.As in, how much? Do you have any tools and a floor jack?
Remove the rear wheels one at a time and check that the spindle nut is tight. I believe it is a 32 MM socket. If you are unable, take it to any decent local repair place (obviously not Ford) and have them check this. if one or both is loose, have them apply red loctite to the threads of the nut and torque them back down.

Les Schwab, Christian Brothers, Meineke etc. in your area? This nut coming loose and making the exact noise you have in your video is a known issue. The Axle may be tapping back and forth inside it's splines. Unsure if the socket will fit into the hub bore hole of the wheel if you remove just the center capNope, no floor jack.
Mechanically Inclined or not you should get one my friend. Hit up Harbor Freight for a low profile 3 ton, can get them on sale for $109Nope, no floor jack.
I don't know what changed on mine but the sound has reduced to where it is hardly detectable (and nothing was changed on the car). To be honest, it has not been noticeable for over a month under normal daily driving conditions.I have the same noise from my 18 PP1...sounds like you have rocks stuck in the tread of the tires, as you roll slowly along next to a wall, fence or curb. I have jacked the car up and checked each wheel for bearing noise and smoothness, no issues...all turn smoothly with no noise. May disconnect the driveshaft and check u-joints. Very puzzling. So, we now have the Coyote "tick" and now the S550 "click"?
