Andy,
I can tell you that being in the Detroit area and working with a really good dealer, (Varsity Auto Group), they were willing to try different components to solve the problem. First I made the suggestion to replace the transmission and then the driveshaft after the issue wasn't solved. I...
Have you checked inside the engine compartment? The rattle I had on a 2016 Mustang orginated from the washer bottle behind the right headlight and sounded like it was coming from the right side dash.
Good morning Aaron. The problem ended up being a bad driveshaft. After I was able to get the transmission replaced, the "clicking" was was about 80% resolved. I was able to get the driveshaft replaced and that totally solved the problem.
I dont know if the transmission took out the...
I really like the throttle response in Sport + mode. I'm just lazy and don't want to switch it into Sport+ mode every time I start the car. Any ideas? I've read the manual several times and can't find a solution.
If you still have the noise after the new transmission is installed, have them replace the driveshaft. Talking to engineers and mechanics in the area, we all suspect that the driveshaft was the culprit all along. Even after my trans was replaced the noise was getting louder the more I drove...
An update - With Max's response to my question about the driveshaft, I went back to the dealer (Varsity AG) to see what they thought (besides me being crazy) about the slight noise I'm still having coming from the transmission area.
I fully admit that I'm over the top about my cars, but Varsity...
Thanks Max. I've never had a vibration, and I'm looking for it. I still have a little "clicking", but nothing like it was. Yesterday, I changed the trans fluid to BG and wow what a difference. After a few test miles, the trans shifts like butter.
Sorry it took so long to write back.
Just before Christmas, the dealer called to see if I could get the car in for a day to swap out the trans and of course I said "you bet".
Once I picked the car up and drove it home, if I really listened hard I could barely hear a slight ticking. I would...
Hello Max. I hope your problem is just the stickers. Depending on when your car was built, you might want to get an extended service contract. I've purchased three contracts online from Floyd Ford. Much less expensive.
I'm told the new trans should arrive in about 10 days, so I'll let you...
Last week, I went to the dealer to have them listen to the noise and finally put it up on the hoist with the car running. Could not hear the noise from below, but the service manager definitely heard it from inside the car. After sending the manager a complete write-up and the file you sent...
That's the same noise I have. I've found nothing in the TSB's or anything else on line. The last thing I want to do is go to a dealer so I'm going to try and get some of my contacts at Roush to see what they think. It may be a while.
I'll keep you informed.
Dave
I had a friend go for a ride with me and he swears it's coming form the transmission underneath the center console behind the shifter. I've noticed that the noise gets louder when the car is warmer. When the car is cold, no noise for short trips to the store. This leads me to think that it...
I changed the oil in the beginning of the driving season with Mobil 1. Clicking sound has been there since I got the car, but it never really bothered me and I thought at first it was the blower motor making noise.
I then started to pay attention to it to try and tried to pin it down...
I have an issue with my 21 convertible. My clicking noise starts at 25 mph and goes to about 40 mph. Stops below 25 MPH. If this car had a speedometer cable, I'd be looking there. Sounds like a baseball card in the spokes of a bike. Speed sensitive. The faster I go, the more rapid the...
