I don't detail for money, I started practicing on my red 01 Dodge 4x4 QC that I bought well used and got more serious when I bought my black 05 Frontier new. I managed to keep the Frontier in very good shape for a few years and then relocated and lived for a year with family and hardly washed it.

So a lot changed since 08 and I needed better supplies so I bought the Meg's 5" system with a new plate, microfiber pads, correction compound and finishing wax. I thought compound to finishing wax was a big step so I bought the polish and two extra finishing pads despite the videos I watched demonstrating the system. I am using a Meg's DA that I believe is a re-badged Porter Cable.

It took from 8am to 4pm to Sunday to complete the three steps on my 2500HD and I have to say it was work on my old and worn out rotator cuff muscles but the system works very well. The trucks condition is good and most people think it's five years old rather than nine but it had the typical imperfections that are applied after years of even hand washing with quality products. I use a power washer at times to remove heavy dirt and mud but no drive thru washes.

The product and microfiber pads worked very well removing all but the deepest scratches in the clear coat that may require cut and buff or some added clear coat to fill the voids.

I will let the finish wax cook until the weekend and go over it with Meg's NXT 2.0, ULW or Carnuba...I have not decided yet.

I have a few photos but ya'll probably know how difficult it is to demonstrate paint correction with a camera on cars of color so white is even tougher.

The left side of the tailgaite was my first test a week ago after washing and claying, the left has more reflection in the sky and trees but what I see in the photo is more clarity, especially in my reflection, consider yourself lucky my ugly mug is not visible (grin)

I was pleased and disappointed in the end, with my eyeballs a foot away from the paint all day, I see a billion chips that I don't need to repair, but want to repair.

And last, I am on the hunt for 2-3" size pads for either the DA or a second machine for detail work.

FYI - foam almost always finish polishes better than microfiber. But, glad you're liking what you're using.

RE pads - detailed image will have what you need. 3" is a pretty common size in foam and microfiber. 1 and 2" pads generally can be found in foam, not as common with microfiber. Some people punch their own 1 and 2" pads from 5 or 6 inch disc. There are specialized tools for that, or you can make your own with a piece of pipe sharpened on one end and a cap on the other.
