OP’s is an Euro car so it come standard with most of the PP1 parts. But your right getting 18’s to clear the Brembo’s is going to make thing more difficult.ok, you also forgot to mention you have a PP1 car. This makes going to 18" rims a bit more complicated - only a handful will fit.
Yes but there *are* some 18s that fit.OP’s is an Euro car so it come standard with most of the PP1 parts. But your right getting 18’s to clear the Brembo’s is going to make thing more difficult.
Not sure how easy those will be to ship to France. And at what cost? Could be a very expensive experiment especially if it doesn't give OP the desired result.Yes but there *are* some 18s that fit.
And also why fit softer tires to a car platform that was specifically tuned to be rigid and have plus-sized brakes? Kind of defeat the purpose. Not sure how easy those will be to ship to France. The perfect car for bad French roads. And also why fit softer tires to a car platform that was specifically tuned to be rigid and have plus-sized brakes? Kind of defeat the purpose.
I don't know how it is where OP lives, but in southern France roads are terrible... that's why French cars were famous to have a very comfortable ride (also today French cars have very soft squishy seats and suspensions. I don't like any of them, they make me sick, but there is who enjoys the wobbly ride). Maybe he's just adjusted to that kind of ride.
To some extent I understand who is telling him he's in the wrong car....
Not at all. A car doesn't need to be rigid to be fast. A little sidewall on a tire can make a pronounced ride difference with no loss of performance. A good tire is a lot more important than a short sidewall, and a taller sidewall is a lot easier to hustle than a shorter one. Basically every GT race car uses 18" wheels. And also why fit softer tires to a car platform that was specifically tuned to be rigid and have plus-sized brakes? Kind of defeat the purpose.
