My order through Zach got picked up by Ford on Jan 15th and scheduled for production the week of March 29th. The estimated build date is way sooner than I would have guessed but I’ll get to enjoy the whole summer with it so no complaints
When did you place the order?

Recently purchased my GT350, but if I was looking for a Mach 1, this would be better than any option I could think of.

His was within the week of the 15th.

I'd plan on approximately 90-120 days from the time you place the order to delivery.
I guess I will need to speak with my dealer on this. obviously having a dealer 3min from my house that I have done business with before rather than a dealer 5.5 hours west of me is worth some money but $4k worth I don't know.

We'd love to earn your business, but if you have a good relationship and have done business in the past and you can come to agreement on a fair price. I certainly think that is a good avenue too.

Tell them to match the price or go to hell. If granger can make money selling at this price so can they. No reason to pay more. And only 5 hours away? You can drive there pick it up and be home the same day.

uship.com is a great resouce
but unfortunately the quality of the transporter is highly variable. Meecum has transport services. And there are specialist carriers who do things proper and Federal Transport as well.

Hi Zach,

This is both an interesting and disruptive business model. I wish you success.
I'm planning to order a car when I settle my 2020 taxes probably late Feb or early March. Estimated enclosed shipping from IO to MA is about $1K which I would want to do.

Some questions:
- Do I need temp IO plates to put on a carrier from your dealership? I'd prefer to ship direct to MA and register the vehicle here in MA only.
- I would insure when purchased and provide info to you. Does this help with eliminating the need for temp plates?
- Is there any IO sales tax with or without IO temp plates? I need to pay sales tax here when I register the car and don't want to pay twice.
- Looking for the following can you provide a total out the door quote?
2021 Mustang Mach1 Iconic Silver
700A Deluxe package
67D Elite package
91N Navigation
64S Performance Wheel Upgrade
DIO Vehicle Cover
Destination, Gas Guzzler and any Dealership Fees

Thanks for the note. You do not have to put temporary plates on if you have the car registered in massachusetts. That's only to facilitate transportation until you do so in massachusetts.

You do not have to pay any taxes here. Outside of the price of the car there is only a $180 doc fee and the temp tags fee is up to you at $45.

The only other thing i would need to know from you is if you want an automated or manual.

We have the luxury in being in semi-rural Iowa so we don't have high property costs, low cost of living, etc. So we are leveraging this to our advantage.

Thanks again

Tax is paid to the state you register it in only. I have bought new cars from CT and NY and both would not release the car without a valid MA plate on it, said they could not put a temporary tag on it. Bought my GT during COVID from dealer in NY, they had to submit paperwork via US mail and the state sent them MA plate then they released to me. That being said, perhaps being on a transport would be looked at differently. Your insurance might demand a valid registration be on the vehicle before it moves.

In VA you just buy a transport permit (it's not even a temp tag) for $10 or was it $20 and you can move a vehicle around. If you're crossing state lines on your way back to VA you might get hassled by the popo but should be good to go - check intervening jurisdictions to be sure. I can't imagine a temp IA tag and it's exhorbitant $45 fee is going to crimp anyone's purchase.

You can get 5+4% off (before rebates) in metro-DC and it doesn't take that much work. Heck, here's a 5+8 example. Getting 5+2 off a Mach 1 in early 2021 is probably close to impossible but shove a sales order from Grainger in the face of Koons and Sheehy and they'll probably capitulate and match it.

Just because a dealer WANTs to get top dollar, doesn't mean they HAVE to. The sooner the attempt at market distortion is destroyed, the more the consumer benefits.
