So I'm switching to a 17/15 setup from a 18/17. I'm looking at lighter front runners. I was running the 28x6r18 sr sportsman on my 18s and that's an incredibly heavy tire. I'm considering getting the 27"ET fronts for my 17s but I hate bias ply. So I found that m&h has a new 28" radial front runner. Weight is supposedly 16lbs, yes still heavier than a bias ply but 6lbs lighter than the SRs. Has anyone run these?

How much did the M/T 28x6r18 sr sportsman weigh? Did they handle decently on the street and track?

I think they were 24 or 26lbs. They're fine for street driving and good at the track. Just not a fan of the weight lol.

Are you guys run ing TPMS sensors on your drag pack wheels Or just living with the tire pressure warning light?

Since I run higher than recommended up front and lower in the rear, there's no point in TPMS in my opinion. On radial front runners, I usually run 45-50, and 15-20 depending on what rear tire I'm running.

I run the M&H fronts in 26*6. I used to run the MT Sportsman's, but trashed them for the weight too.
They're ridiculously heavy.

I run stock tpms on my drag pack with 26x6x18 mt s/r's. The dash shows 50 lbs in the fronts and 30 lbs in my rear tires for daily driving.

No low tire pressure light on the dash due to the imbalance of air pressure between front and rear? Did you just order them from the dealer, or transfer them over from your factory wheels?

No tpms / low pressure light at those settings.
I transferred tpms from factory to vms wheels

You might want to look into the new ET street fronts that MT released. I had good luck with the MH bias ply tires on my car but I have seen issues with the tread separating on them because they are not designed for heavy cars.

I was trying to find the new radial fronts but everyone seems to be at least a month out. I ran the M&H bias, as well multiple friends with no issues. We had 3 s550 cars locally running them lol. But I just ordered the 28"radial version and they should be here today.

M&H offers a 28” radial front runner for an 18” wheel?

Not yet. I going to a 17" setup. It looks just like the bias ply version but it's radial.

I think the only 18" radial they offer is the small 26.

Oh ok. I got excited for a second there. I need to stay with a 28 up front too. Might have to go with that heavy M/T Sportsman radial up front since I’ll be driving on the street a little with the drag setup.

Yeah, no way I'm using a lightweight front skinny tire on a 3500 lb car. Zero. That's why I got MT sportsman s/r 28x6x18.
