I bought the car on the 10th of October and just noticed this yesterday evening. Looks like the drivers side side splitter is loose or broken.

I noticed it because I’m performing the first detail/clean/wax job.

Any thoughts?

Looks like someone put too much weigh on it? Perhaps getting in or out it was partially stepped on?

Add that to the list of my car too. I just noticed it today. I added a layer of Xpel to the bottom of the surfboard and noticed the same thing. Another thing I look forward to fixing myself.

Ford, what is your major malfuction?

Geeze, Tom...is there a black cloud over your house? Damn sorry amigo and I hope it's a simple fix. I don't THINK I have the issue but I haven't looked for it.
More like a gremlin living in his car

No, KB, its just that Ford is a bunch of douches that cant build a car correctly.

It could have been stepped on, as it spent 3 months in the dealership showroom. Then again, the side boards - are they dealer installed? If so, it was probably installation error.

Feeling and looking underneath, I found some loose push pins. I think this should be an easy fix. Hopefully...

They are factory installed. It’s possible at some point along the way someone stepped on them. Were both sides the same? Keep us posted how you make out.

The passenger side is tight and fastened correctly.

So, the dealership tech tried to fix it by tightening the push pins and gave up when that didn't work. A new side splitter and side board (are they one piece?) are on order and will be installed when they arrive.

Hopefully this will fix the problem.

There is more to it than just push pins. I believe the GT350 side splitters were riveted in. This looks like the same side splitter but with the surfboard attached.. I didn't mess with mine. Maybe ill have a look later.

I would just imagine regardless of the method of fastener that replacing the splitter/skirts/boards is not really the answer but replacing the fasteners. Unless some actually strained them somehow.

Thats the way the dealerships work. Just order the part and reinstall. I'll have a look in the workshop manual. I bet its rivets and a mix of other fasteners.

Edited to add:

The workshop manual looks to show that the whole rocker panel has to be removed. I don't see rivets in this procedure. So, I will have the car on jackstands while finishing my roll cage install. If I have time, I will have a look. Mine needs a tweak. Its not so bad that I would remove the whole rocker panel.
