Loose E-break handle

Anyone ever had an issue with their E-brake handle being loose? i've got maybe an inch or two of play and when my thigh or leg hits it, it sets off the ebreak alarm and buzzers start going off. Thing drives me nuts, any easy way to adjust it so it's not as loose?

Yeah, it's a known issue. The dealer will either tighten the cable or order a complete new e-brake handle assembly.

Never had the loose e-brake handle - but did have the loose e-brake cable where if upon accelerating the cable mechanism mounted to the driver side trans tunnel would rattle against the trans tunnel. Ford fixed it under warranty.

Son of a... i figured.. well outta warranty so i'll see what i can do about having it adjusted before i go off the deep end. Thanks for the heads up.

The cable runs underneath the car and is easily adjustable. The e-brake was useless in my car and would easily rise if I nudged the handle up while driving. Tightening the cable fixed that issue.
