Loose Door Handle Fix?

The circled part of my driver side door handle (see pic) is kind of loose meaning I can jiggle it up and down which causes a creaking/clicking noise. Is there a way to tighten this so it's firm again or is it just normal wear? Passenger side handle is much firmer with no up and down play when I try to jiggle it.
I've been chasing a click/tick noise coming from the inside of the driver side door panel for a while and cannot track it down. It's not likely that the door handle is the source, but wouldn't hurt to tighten it if possible and eliminate the possibility.

Anyone else have loose handles and have tightened it up so it doesn't jiggle? If so, how do you do it?
