Got mine now booked in.

Was told they would need the car for the whole day!

When I asked why they needed it that long for a simple check and to apply some tape (if actually needed), they told me it can take a while to receive parts to do the job ?!?!?!

When I asked why they don't hold the tape in stock, I basically got a .

I did however got them to agree a courtesy car for the day.

Just received a letter today for the recall, thought mine was built long after those issues but will book it in anyway

Probably just proactive checks etc.

I had agood look at the car today. The loom is a long way away from the manifold, and very nicely covered in silver tape. I doubt anything does need doing, and suspect the letter was another Ford cock up.

Hey Rob,

Booked in at Ashton Gate Bristol.

I believe mine should already been done as it was built after the issue was originally raised, but we'll see - still a pain though.

Hols was good, but since being back at work, now a distant memory.

Love to hook up soon, just trying to work out when (always seem to have too much on).

Hopefully going to the Buddies American diner meet. http://www.mustang6g.com/forums/showthread.php?t=64287

Sounds like it could be good fun

Same here, assuming I'm looking at the right loom - about an inch in diameter, running alongside manifold on driver side. Covered in silver foil and cable-tied a few inches away from manifold.

Just booked mine to Furrows of Telford for Wednesday next week, after being given an October date at Bristol Street Stoke.
Luckily I have the option of three Ford Stores within 40 minutes, so can choose the Service/Dealer who performs best.
Half a day is what they say tops and the guy I spoke to seemed more clued up on the issue too.

Had a look at mine and the loom on both sides has been taped, but there is a loom coming from the fuse board straight past the manifold at the front on the drivers side which is pretty close and not taped, the one with the white clip round it, certainly a lot closer than the loom is, don't know if this is the problem

Just tried my local non-FordStore to see if they could do the work. They don't know, and will phone back to confirm :tsk:

Check your loom guys because some of the wiring can drop near to the manifold.I had my fix early, but from the factory my loom in parts did not reach there plastic support anchors and we're hanging down very close to the manifold. I tie wrapped them up out the way.It wouldn't surprise me if this caused the loom fire if some cars were like mine.

Just been to my dealer to book my car in for the recall, to be told they already did it last time I was in

Very pleased and impressed with that

Had a call back from local Ford dealer (not a FordStore). Having checked - apparently - they can do the work but need to order in the parts first. Surprised a bit...
