If your leaning more towards a GT a base can cost the same or sometimes even cheaper than a loaded eco premium. Mine was about $1k Cheaper. That is if you can live with cloth seats and that hideous looking 4" centre screen w/292 buttons.

I picked up my v6 from outside Baltimore for 'poor quality' trade-in price (NADA) from a dealer. The car was spotless and had 18K miles on it. I think people look at the asking price as some kind of floor. It should be considered a 'ceiling' is many cases. The markup in the used market is eyewatering.

except it works way better than that touch-screen crap. I don't have to look at the screen, or tempted to look at it since the steering wheel buttons are what you should be using anyway.
The only value I get from the x01A big screen is when I hook up my phone for navigational purposes. That's it.

My 1996 integra works better than a lot of newer cars, but it’s still just a 90’s Honda when the sun goes down

Again, I think it comes down to what you want. I don’t typically keep cars for years and years because there are too many good cars to keep one or two forever. So resale value is something I always consider. I looked through a bunch of base pp gt cars and while the appeal of the pp is nice, I thought the premium was more worth it. That and I can’t stand the way the base interiors look. But that’s not everyone’s cup of tea and I get that. I’ve found it effective to go with the elementary school approach. Be honest with yourself about what you really want out of a car and make a pros and cons list. See which model/trim contains more of your “wishlist”

Well, I went to my local dealer this afternoon, and took several different levels of Mustang out for a ride. Started with a Base GT 300A, only add on was the 10-Speed. Tried out a 400A with performance package, and at least, for me, with how i drive, i didn't really notice a difference in its handling. Then i took a 401A out, PP and Magneride.. and yeah.. that was a nice one to drive. But, way out of my price range at 48K. Even that base one ended up being more then i can do right now, Asking 36K, with 24k in trade in. Add what i owe ontop of that.. even with that car having been sitting for 250+ days on the lot. Plus, thats all it has, the 5.0 and the A10.. nothing else inside of it. As much as i had fun with the drive, I know I want more in the way of creature comforts then what was readily avalable with that one. My hunt continues.

Thats what im starting to think. Not that i mind the Ecoboost. I had a 201A before it got totaled, and i loved it. Just thought this time around I might be able to get the 5.0

If I was closer to tampa, that used one posted earlier would have been absolutely perfect. I just dont feel like driving 7 hours to see it.

If you loved your 16’ drive a 18/19 with the 10 speed. Still runs out of gas above 5k but amazing out of the box :)
