About a year ago I traded my 16 GT in on a 2012 GT500. It’s been a great car but I’m looking to sell it and buy a 10spd GT. My 16 GT did have the dreadful ac evap problem. It was fixed under warranty thankfully.. was the AC problem resolved by the 18-19 model year?

I found a Kona blue 18 GT 10Spd locally with about 40k miles. Only thing I wished that it had but doesn’t is the digital cluster but.. clicks all the boxes otherwise.

love the S197 platform but I can’t deny how much more refinement the S550 platform provides. I’m normally a clutch kind of guy but that 10spd is a game changer. If the sale follows through on the GT500, looks like I’ll be back

I would personally keep the GT500. Sure, the A10 cars with a blower (of any kind) are damn quick but a GT500 has that true muscle car feel with that solid axle and robust TR6060. Not to mention, add on a 3.0L Whipple or Gen3r and that car and it'll easily be on par if not quicker than any newer generation Mustang.

Each their own though. Best of luck with whichever route you take.

Well if it wasn’t my daily and I was only looking to go fast, I would just keep it. It currently has 36k miles on it and it runs and drives like a much newer car. The solid rear is def better for performance but quite frankly, it rides like a pickup truck lol. Our roads are pretty terrible here in Louisiana.

it also has recaros. They’re super nice and all but not the most comfortable seat I’ve sat in mustang wise. It’s better suited as a second car for someone. Sadly the majority of my driving is to work.

On par? Not with a A10 with a blower and for sure not faster

Not 100% disagreeing, but there are a lot of fast GT500s (07-14) out there as well as boosted A10 cars. So yeah... on par.

I'm not interested in semantics but I guess it all depends goal wise and knowing that he's not looking to 'go fast' the newer car would definitely be better for the creature comforts.

as of right this min..and as of this post, it’a spoken for but..

2012 with 36k miles, recaros, nav, Performance pack.. I was asking $38.5k for it

stock for stock.. an A10 coyote would walk all over it. Traction in this thing is a big problem.. a sticky set of back tires and an experienced driver.. who knows..

For a small wad of cash.. a pulley swap, cold air, and tune later.. that’ll give a good 70ish Rwhp bump. Which is great, but only amplifies the traction problem lol

Dealer or private. Used pricing isa cluster. Hope you’re getting a decent deal.

Since making this thread I’ve come across a 19 model in white that I like better.. they want about $41k for it but it’s a premium PP car with the digital cluster and only about 13k miles. I agree pricing now is ridiculous. Sadly where I live, pricing isn’t the only pain.. finding a potential car I want is a pain in itself. Both cars are at a dealer.

19’ Premium PP with the 401a package is a winner in my books especially in white. $41k doesn’t sound bad with that mileage and todays market. Good luck and post pics when you get it. 👍

Stock for stock, 100%. Those Eaton's didn't do much. Everyone I know who has a GT500 immediately jumped to a Trinity blower.

I tell ya.. I must be some sort of glutton for punishment because trying to sell a car.. it’s a special kind of frustration lol..

The white 19 model I was interested in sold. My potential buyer for the Shelby flaked out and bought another car.. which is fine.. a simple “hey man, I decided to pass because I found something else” would of been nice but.. ah well..
