Hey guys! I'm hoping to get some advice/insight on oil filter relocations. I'm looking to make oil changes for this car as smooth/quick as possible, and considering an oil filter relocation kit. I have bad memories of oil filter changes on my last V8-powered FoMoCo product, and would much rather take an hour or two installing a relocation now, than the extra 20 minutes every oil change wiping up spilled oil.

For those who have done it, would you do it again? If you would, is there anything you'd do differently? Is it worth it to do this, or should I just get a pack of Ziplocs to glove up the filter when I pull it off?

Thank you for any ideas.

Honestly it's not that bad, they even make this 3D printed funnel thing that you can snap on and it lets the excess oil drain away from the subframe and wires. What I do is drill the bottom of the filter and let it drain out that way while I drain the sump and it doesn't make any mess.

Unless you need to access the oil filter without jacking the car up and do a quick filter change in the pits or something, doing a filter relocation to save a few minutes every couple months doesn't seem worth it.

Fair enough. I had a relocation on my other V8s for ease, and use Subarus in the winter, so I have forgotten what it's like to change a bottom mounted filter. I'm trying to be proactive about this, as I have been cursed for years with spilling oil every change. I'm thinking I'll be printing up one of those funnels to see how it does.
Thank you!
