So I boosted my mustang in March and put 14k miles on it since then. We have crappy 91 out here so I run boostane in every tank and meth. Swapped plugs for ngk's when I installed the twins. I was hoping to get a year before replacing plugs, which would be about 20k miles but started feeling some studdering on take off and up top it feels like it's lacking some of the punch it had before. Replaced them today and damn they are caked up! Took it for a drive and studdering is gone. Didnt open it up yet but I will tomorrow. I'm not great at reading plugs and I'm not sure if there is much to see here except mmt fouling them up fast but here's a few pics. Let me know if anything looks out of the ordinary. Guess I'll have to swap them out at 10k next time.

The residue reminded me of a product called 104+ octane booster I used in my older Mustang. I cleaned the plugs, check the gap, re-installed them and run some more.

Yeah gap was still dead on but the residue was thick on them. What do you use to clean up plugs? Can't say I've ever tried that before.

These days, scotch brite or some 600 grit sandpaper and some carburetor cleaner will do the trick.

I have used the brass brush in this image to clean up spark plugs. Use the brush to loosen up any debris, then use Carb Cleaner to spray clean and let air dry (usually dry in less than 2 mins).

I appreciate it guys. I have a fresh set of plugs in the car now but I'll clean up the ones I took out and try them again when it's time to pull these and clean them.

Plugs are one problem. Another question is if the octane booster is dumping the same residue on your catalytic converters...assuming that's a concern where you live.

That's a very good point.

I'm now curious to know what one of the O2's looks like...

Yes, I'm so old school and didn't' think about the the other issues.

My previous Mustang was a '85 GT Convertible. A Holley 4 bbl between the air intake and the cats. Not much to screw up. Today, well just blink and you failed a Smog check.

I loved that old Fox Body. Drove it for 15 years. The 1985 GT was the last carbureted Mustang.

This ^^. My plugs looked similar to that in my old boosted GT when I ran 104 Octane booster; only mine were a dark burgundyish in color.

Nope, That is not a concern for me. O2s are but so far so good there. I also have to clean my exhaust tips quite often.

I had them out while droping the tranny last month but didn't take a picture. They were slightly orangish in color but didn't have the orange residue caked up on them like the plugs do. So far no issues with them but I'll keep an eye on it.

Got a few chances to give it a little gas on the way to work this morning and wow! I had no clue how much power had dropped off. I'll be keeping a much closer eye on them from here on out.
