Hello, hoping someone from Steeda, @tj@steeda , @SteedaTech , @David@Steeda (sorry for the blanket tagging, just hoping to get some help for tomorrow) or someone who has solved this can chime in and give me some direction.
So I'm in the final stages of the installation on my '16 GT. I have the shifter installed in the car with the reverse lockout installed with it's spring as well as the shorter springs for return to center.
Neither is returning, both move fine, they just don't return. The return to center isn't doing it's job it just sticks wherever I leave it. Also the reverse lockout slides up and down fine and I can see the o-rings are in their grooves and not hung up, but it also doesn't return to it's downward position without a little nudge, then it slides home. I hear the machining marks on the black plastic reverse lockout part when sliding it up and down. Sounds like a fine zipper. Also played withe loosening that screw (no loctite) in the side of the shifter holding the reverse lockout, but doesn't have an effect either way.
As to the return to center, I've wiggled the shifter left/right trying to see if it would loosen up, but it doesn't. It moves fine, just doesn't return to center. Anyone have a suggestion for me to look into in the morning??
I tried to duplicate the amount of grease from the pics in the instruction set. I don't think I used too much, but maybe too little? Kind of guesswork on that.
Thanks hopefully! Anxious to get it on the road!
