That color combo pops. Love the red Shelby lettering on splitter too.

Sent to my friend with the identical Porsche. Asked him if he finally broke down and got the R as well

Lightning Blue

Good to hear since I still have not seen one in person. Thanks for the update. It does look awesome in those pics. Mine is scheduled to be built the last week in Sept. Guess I'll be pushing harder to sell the 70 Mach1.

There was a Lightning Blue GT350R at Mustang Alley over the weekend (along with every color 2016/17 GT350 there is, except Ruby Red) and having now seen one in the color, it is absolutely THE color to have for 2017. DIB was my favorite color previously, but Lightning Blue looks SO good. There was a Grabber Blue one there, too, but I really didn't feel like the color popped like it did on previous generations. LB is THE color on GT350s, IMO.

Isn't it great that Ford makes the GT350 in 3 outstanding shades of blue!? I'll throw in a pic of my Deep Impact Blue, so they're all together.:ford:

If one is a fan of blue, I don't think you can go wrong with any of these blues. I like them all for different reasons. A part of me loves Grabber Blue the best, but another part of me thinks it's too bright and attention grabbing for me to live with on a daily basis. Lightning Blue also looks fantastic, but in bright light I'm a little less fond of it. Then of course there's Deep Impact Blue, which happens to be my personal favorite (no but).

I just do NOT see the point in spending so much more for the R over the regular (which can be gotten for MSRP to 10k over). The ONLY reason would be if you were a collector and wanted to invest for resale. But performance wise, they are practically the same. The small differences can be added to the regular 350 for very little. $100 to remove the resonators. Couple hundred bucks for the stiffer front springs. Another few hundred for the front splitter. The only expensive items (which don't really affect performance unless you're really getting serious) are the wing and wheels.

Apparently, you aren't very familiar with Rs. :ford:

Apparently it's you who's not familiar with your own car. But that's your concern. But, since you "called me out" and decided to NOT enlighten me or this forum on the secrets your R has over the non R's, let me do so. Read carefully, you might learn something about your own car.

Aero: R has bigger rear wing and bigger front splitter (obvious).
Mech Grip: R has wider CF wheels running cup tires, 1mm larger rear sway bar (too compensate for wider wheels), and higher poundage front springs (to compensate for slightly higher aero from front splitter).
Motor: The same.
Trans: The same.
Software: The same.
Power: The same (spending on dyne - perhaps a couple hp more on the R because of unsprung weight from lighter wheels).

Obviously there can be other weight saving options depending on your spec, but basically, if you spec a 2017 R and non R the same, they will perform exactly the same, except for the mentioned slight differences which will give it better aero & mech grip at the extremes of the performance envelope (which only a VERY capable driver will be able to notice).

Sounds like sour grapes to me.
