Hey all, I actually told the dealership I ordered from in the beginning not to drill the front bumper please. Or do anything else for that matter!! I mean, its the least they could do for me since I have bought and referred many people to the dealership. I'd like to say I have a great relationship with the manager, since I speak to him directly when I buy my vehicles.

So far, every new Mustang thats arrived at the dealership did not have any front brackets installed. So I guess they wait til vehicle is purchased? Alls I know is that during my recent visit to the dealership to get my F150 serviced, I did not even have to say anything to the guy, he laughed and said your car will not have the front brackets installed, they will be left on the passenger side floor...and that makes me feel good!:amen::thumbsup::D

So in short, I would just ask nicely during the ordering process not to have anything drilled.

No drive, no wash, no holes. They left all the decals, plastics. I was there when the car rolled from the truck. Even drove the car for the PDI. Dealer was great to work with.

I told my dealer this also and he agreed. I said no interior cleaning or sprays, no wash and I want to inspect each body panel, and no spraying engine bay with anything.

He did say they do spray some sort of under carriage protectant though...what is that?

My bracket was left in the trunk. I'll probably just chance it, and if I get stopped I'll just throw it up in the front window.

I am still pissed about mine being drilled. I took off the front license plate bracket the other day. The jacka$$es even gouged the paint a little with the two screws that hold the plate on the damn bracket...ugh. I will be getting the BumperPlugs and a stow-n-show soon along with a Dr. Colorchip kit to fix the small gouges and future rock dings.

I am confident I will be ok/happy enough when I get these things done but it still eats my a$$ when I see those drug out nasty holes in my front bumper now.

Thanks! (great search function)

I bought bumperplugs.com to cover my holes up
Just got a new Mustang - with the front plate already installed :frusty:

I wanted to remove the plate & bracket, but didn't know what to do about the holes. I figured I couldn't be the only one to ever have this problem, so did a search of these forums and saw your post. Looks like the answer to my prayers!

So once I confirm the holes aren't too large (and that there are no other gouges/nastiness hiding behind the bracket), I'll be ordering a set of plugs.

Just wanted to take a minute to thank you - even though your post is from a long time ago, it's still helping folks out. Thanks again!

I told the dealer if they put the front license plate on it, I would not buy the car. Works every time.

Just saw a 2018 on my dealers lot today. There is a sticker in the right rear side window that lists all the items that are in the trunk. It includes the front plate bracket, floor mats, inflator kit, etc. Don't let any sales rep tell you that the holes are drilled and plate bracket installed at the factory. Not true. The car I looked at had a white piece of plastic across the facia where the plate bracket would go and a piece of black foam glued to it that sticks out about an inch for further protection.

My dealer did not install, in fact my sales guys was like you cant put a license plate on the front of a mustang, its just not right. Unfortunately CT does not agree with him, but for now I am brakin the law, brakin the law with no plate :D
