Can anyone give me the spacing for the dimples on the front and rear bumpers where the license plates are mounted on the 2018 model and whether they are the same as on the 2016/17 models?

I don't think anyone here will tell you where to drill in your front bumper lol. There should be a few non drill options around if you insist on a front plate.

HaHa. I have seen your question on the UK & Aus forums as well and it seems no one can give a straight answer. Seeing as there are no 18's in Australia yet I find it relevant and seeing as we would last 5 minutes on Aus roads without a front plate attached we cannot just not mount one. At least having the dimple spacings we have the option to drill if we choose. Anyway without any decent brackets on the market now that Lakin has closed shop I will temporarily use velcro fittings until something better turns up.
For those who say not to drill the front bumper what is the reason. Is it a matter of not holding?

I didn’t think the question was that hard, doesn’t anyone have access to the dimple spacing front and rear?

Front US bumper dimples are spaced 10" on center.

I'm glad your question is answered, but this thread just brought back a painful memory of what some genius at the dealer did to my new baby. Thank goodness they didn't mount the front plate.

Holy shit. And I thought the guy at my dealer was a moron for trying to install my plate with the M6 machine screws from my Mazda. Nearly reamed that stupid grommet out completely. I wish Ford would use machine screws.

How did they make that right?

In the old days, I would have gotten even, and maybe in trouble. I certainly wouldn't let them touch the car with a ten foot feather. Just told them, never let that person touch another car and there is a closer dealer that's perfectly happy to perform any warranty work. The only time it will ever be seen is when the plate is off, so I blotted it from my memory. Too bad this thread brought it back.

Confused. The TOP holes are the recommended holes, no?
Why not now merely place your number plate in said holes, versus what the dealer created? Even the mistaken holes would still be hidden.

Well, yeah. Probably get rid of the dealer frame too, no?

Thank you GTBOB,
Sorry to be a pain, would you mind re-checking the measurements as one response I got stated 21cm which is about 8 1/2 inches centre to centre.
Cheers
John
