The sticky didn't show the rear speaker wires so I thought I'd just ask in a new post. I was going to unwrap the factory harness and splice into the wires for the line output converter but I don't know what colors are what for the rears.

OR.. If anyone knows what the +/- are on the speaker terminals I'm debating on just connecting the loc to the speaker itself and not bothering cutting into the oem harness...

I just solder mine in like this. I think when your looking at the speaker from behind the car positive is to the left. At least that how's mine is setup. Way easier than splicing into some wires.

That is exactly what i was planning to do ! If possible could you take a peek at your wires from inside the trunk and tell me which was +\- looking up at it like that ? Hardest part I think is just making sure which side or direction we are talking about lol

Yes that's right

The positive side is the driver side of the speaker.

Thx ! Both of mine and assuming all cars have the speakers installed in that orientation so drivers side works

I checked the wires from up top. The positive wires are the ones on the passenger side of the 2. I think you have yours backwards !!

Shit!!! Thanks I was going to take the top off to see tomorrow morning. Since I seen the picture of the wires from above on the inside. Sorry for telling you the wrong way of doing this. I hope I didn't f--k anything up on my speakers or amp. I guess tomorrow I'll have to switch some wires around. Thanks again for the up:cheers:

A super easy way to tell which terminal is positive on a speaker is to use a 9 volt battery. If you have the positive terminal on speaker connected to the positive on the battery it will move speaker out (correct phase). If not, it will pull the speaker in (out of phase).

Np !! Glad I could be of help and no problem at all! Really lucky I suppose I came across some pics and tried to zoom in and see myself. Doubt it would damage anything except possibly playing the sub out of phase or reverse or whatever it's called .

I considered the 9v technique but wasn't sure if it was a good idea with the speakers still being plugged in and the battery still being connected.

Great thread - maybe it can be merged with the other so it doesn't get lost over time.

Here's my easy way to identify the speaker colors without tearing the deck apart. There are child safety anchors out back.. Just pop them open and pull the plastic trim out from the deck. Take a peek inside and both plugs on the speakers are visible from the holes to identify the wires.

Here's the best pics I could get. So basically if you are hooking up a line converter to the speaker terminals from inside the trunk and from below, the passenger side terminals are the positive (assuming all factory cars have the speaker terminals facing the front of the car)
