Hey there,
When I bought my car it came with a pretty nice system. It was from a dealer though and they had no info on what was in it. Things I do know:

Battery isolator at the battery
Head unit is a Sony XAV-AX8100
Subs are JL audio 10s
Door speakers are Alpine units (I know this because I had to remove the door panels to get the tint off to pass Maryland inspection.

Here's some pictures of the rest.

Apologies for the glare in some of these. Any help in identifying the gear would be appreciated.

Why do folks ruin a perfectly good "track" car by throwing a stereo like that in it? The previous owner of mine did the same. Which is why I got a good deal, but still. Just silliness.

You have crossovers (Short version, it sends the correct frequency to the correct portion of the speaker), speaker amp, sub amp, various cables, a capacitor, and obviously the last photo is everything. In the order of your photos.

It's JL, so mid range. Not great, but not bad. Honestly, that install looks terrible. It takes up way too much space, the bass wouldn't be very clear, and all of it looks like a beast to fix/work on. If you are into clear, crisp sound that. Ignoring the fact that road noise ruins any clear, crisp sound anyways.

I agree with you on doing it to a 350. I could care less if it had a system in it since I don't even have it on most of the time and when it is on it's not like I can hear it that clearly over the car anyway :cwl: .

I think the previous owner was more in to attention vs performance because besides the system, it had street glow underneath (pulled all of that out) GT500 snakes on the fenders (pulled those off), and a smaller snake on the overflow tank under the hood (pulled that one off too). As far as quality, I found a few corners cut when I pulled the head unit out. The USB extender cable ended up being bad which was why Apple play never worked. Some of the original harness plugs were just flopping around in there as well. I had to pull the console trying to figure out why the dealer couldn't program a second key and found the module that mounts under the cupholder wasn't even attached and was just laying underneath.

Main reason I wanted this car was mileage, color/stripes, price, and location otherwise I'd have kept looking. It also had louvers on the quarter windows and back glass which the dealer had already removed. Only mod so far that I've found I agree with is the JLT oil separators.

Appreciate the description of things.

Lot of wasted trunk space on left and right, holding only crossovers. Tweeters are boosted +3db w/ the dipswitch on crossover.

You mention Alpine speakers but the crossover is from Focal. So maybe Focal tweeters?

Stinger capacitor, 2x JL audio amps (I think RD series). Amp on left is likely bass. Amp on right is other speakers.

Wiring is sufficient for the components.

Though it "looks nice", the bass probably sounds harsh or muffled bouncing off the plastic.

Other than wasted space, I don't have anything bad to say about the components. They are mid to upper-midrange components.

JL Audio RD amplifiers and W3 series subs, looks like 12s but it could be the angle.

As for what was said above by others I have to just laugh and shake my head. Not everyone buys a GT500 or GT350 to race so the extra weight from car audio means nothing. And unless their car is an unregistered tubbed-out monster that won’t idle unless it’s on 116 octane then they should just remain quiet about what other people do with their cars.

Also, there’s nothing wrong with how this build was designed as far as sub placement and firing direction.

I never understood why people just have to trash everything they see that they had zero money invested in.

It’s your ride, you do what ya want. I like it, but it’s not mine so my opinion doesn’t mean anything 😉

Just noticed that the previous owner never removed the protective film from the crossover cover lol

I assume the car is red? Post some photos of the rest of it. Love a good 350.

Hey thanks for all the info! The other thing I’ve noticed was that the whole car has dynomat installed. It’s certainly a conversation starter whenever someone sees it but I kinda feel like an idiot if they ask questions because all I can say is “it was there when I got it”. But thanks to the forum I know have a better idea of what’s there. I’ll have to get a picture but the sub enclosure is clear behind the rear seat. Kinda cool when it’s folded down.
Quick picture shortly after I got it.
