I've made a few changes to the garage with the red floor but no pics.

My Garage before it was too crowded for pictures. LOL. It's a 2 1/2 car, 40 feet deep. Largest residential garage in my town.

Sadly, no garage. Kudos to those that impress.

My garage and my old car at the old house. I had a lot of other car related stuff on the wall and my Snap-On rollaway, etc...but this was after we moved out and went back for a final walk-through so everything had already been moved. I thought the empty garage was a good photo opportunity. I left my Kendall signs there as the new owner wanted them.

I need to do something with the garage in the new house. I didn't realize how nice the old garage was until we moved in the new house. GRRR!

Just moved in over Christmas. It’s our dream house with 3 car garage.

I feel like I would hit every one of those walls with my car lol. do they make a 3 wide garage door? I always see a dual sized door, with a single beside it, but never a 3 wide 1 piece door

3 bays vs 1 large one, which would you pick?

I would do either a double and a single or 3 singles, for multiple reasons.

A single door *may* be more prone to sagging or other issues due to weight.

A double door with a single or 3 singles will help with "spacing" between vehicles...we have a double door now and space is tight, my wife has a tendency to get closer to my car than I want sometimes; it was like that at the old house sometimes also.

And, should there be a failure of any type that won't let you open the door, you still would have at least one functioning garage door and vehicle you can use. My old garage (double door) only had one helper spring for the door. I never gave it a thought until that spring broke (supposedly thermal cycles during winter/summer months are hard on the springs). Without that helper spring, I couldn't open the garage door. I'm not weak and that joker was heavier than I could lift over my head. I would have figured it would have been a piece of cake to lift but it wasn't. Both cars were in the garage so I we couldn't leave the house until it was fixed. So I guess PSA, make sure you have 2 helper springs above your garage doors lol!

I deleted it because I was reading on it.

I did read the 3 door designs need industrial type support, because of load bearing/support. but man would be nice.

Have to love that dream house. There can never be too many garages.

I agree with everything you said. I do notice that the single-door garages do tend to have more space inside. What I don't like is the closeness of the entrances. It is too easy to misjudge and many trucks are not able to fit inside. I would love a 3 bay with a double and one single.

I've noticed this also. And the amount of space from the end of the door to the wall. My old house had a lot of space, maybe 3' from the edge of the door to the wall. I had a rolling cart there. At the new house, that wall space is much shorter, my rolling cart won't even fit. Front to back is shorter too. I used to keep my riding mower behind my car at the old house, now I have to keep it on the back porch.

You can see my wife’s red Explorer in the one picture. She parks in the middle. Pulling in between the posts is tight but once parked inside there is a ton of room. We can open the Explorer doors all the way without hitting. You can see how small the Mustang looks parked inside.
