Waiting for next years September to buy one will only make this car look "more" dated than it already is.

Maybe they're looking for public feedback to make some minor changes prior to production.
You might see some minor tweaks under the skin but this is what you'll see in the fall.

What we see is what we will get and that will be in April 2014.
And you know this how? TT build hasn't even started for the S550 yet.

I was reading that there is still some work being done and tweaks made to the car and that's why the delay. The car isn't quite ready to go into production. There won't be any major design changes but there could still be some minor tweaks especially electronically and under the hood to fine tune everything and get the car ready for production.

While I'd love to buy one tomorrow...I am fine waiting until the fall of 2014. It just gives me that much more time to save up even more to make a bigger down payment to lower my monthly payments. ;-) I'd rather they take their time two squeeze out every last bit of HP and gas millage.

Bottom line is Ford wants this car to be amazing and if they need a little more time to perfect the car...that's fine. This is a car we have all been waiting for. It's kind of like Christmas...it can't get here soon enough...but it's worth the wait...especially when you get that super cool gift that you REALLY wanted. :-)

We were told at the press briefing that it was a prototype, and hand assembled (although a few had already gone down the line at Flat Rock, which BTW also is getting a new paint shop for this car and a few other things).
The prototype was clearly perfectly made - but that doesn't mean that they know how to build it on the line yet to the required standards. That's a long drawn out process at Ford.. .and there have been issues with a few production launches over the few years what would be extremely visible here. And the special teams of people who do this have several other launches taking place soon, including the new Mondeo in Europe and the upcoming F-150.

Where do you get all your misinformation??? No S550's have been down the line at FRAP...trust me on that.

I questioned one of the Mustang people about what stage the car was in, trying to get an idea what stage the car was in, and an idea when regular production might be. And he told me that some had gone down the line. Not any large quantity, just a few for a test.
Now if he was wrong, that's his problem. But they should know.

Maybe he just doesn't know, but I talked to the owner of my dealership today and he told me you could order one as early as next week and they should be at dealers by March.

Please tell me you are just kidding.

Your dealer is either lying or clueless.

I like your 'if he was wrong, that's his problem' caveat after being called out for more misinformation. 'Oh...I'm wrong, well...he said it not me.'

I can tell you from first hand experience, no S550's have been produced on the normal assembly line and that person is either clueless or blowing smoke up your ass because it sounded good coming out of his mouth.

TT build hasn't even begun yet which is the first step to mass production.

Your dealer is giving you lip service. They will not be in dealers by March.
