Did you send me a PM, badass03ragtop? I just checked my inbox; I don't think it went through. Please send me a PM with your VIN; I'll see what I can find out to clear up the mystery of Area 51...I mean, Ramp 51. ;)

Edit: I found the PM. :)

Thanks, Marc! :)

I can't argue that Twitter has more of my colleagues on it at a time, and thus a quicker response time, but I'm wounded. J/K :D

Thanks for suggesting me, Mike!

. Area 51? You're putting me on (does Ford have a guy like the guy from The show "Ancient Aliens" who has the wild hairdo?) I heard that Ford Racing née Ford Performance engineers were a bit "strange" but not so the guys who work at delivery?

You can try @FordService on Twitter as well. The response time is much quicker there and they have the same tools as the Rachel and the rest of the Ford crew attending to the forums.

Given that, Rachel does a fantastic job here, but she has to cover much more territory than the Twitter crew.
This comment is borderline joust worthy! :paddle:

i hope this helps some, i pulled this off a thread on vw vortex.. it explains some of the issues..

A part of the problem is the current rail situation. Cars from all manufacturers are sitting with some GM vehicles waiting 6 weeks for rail. Keep in mind that parts are shipped by rail as well. This issue is a result of the North Dakota oil boom which is eating up 1300 !!!! Cars a day for rail. The oil companies are paying premiums to get those rail cars and auto manufacturers will not pay to get ahead in the rail line...this will go on for at least 2 years they say on the news as new rail cars are being built and rail employees hired...but it is not a short process from high demand for the rail capacity to actual real physical capacity added....

Sorry, very long response but I have been calling this since May and I heard that by Christmas it would bottleneck which will take months to catch up on...

Sucks for everybody waiting on a car....somehow I see a lot of people settling for what they can get instead of their factory order. I know I did.

VW Corporate-you should have ramped up production 6 months earlier to keep your customers ( us) happy....are you reading this ??????????

Tell me about it. My car was ordered July 23rd, finished on October 27th and sat on ramp 51 until December 23rd. Now its on hold at some railyard in MI for BS.

I know it's frustrating, H1 GT and Husker, but both of your Mustangs are on the move again! :)

I can neither confirm nor deny the connection of aliens to any Mustang, Phlyguy and opensesame. ;)

Hey not all of us were fortunate to get cars in September so yes people are still complaining. Can't imagine how it feels to have your car sit that long in a rail yard but looks like mine is on track to do so. My car got to the rail yard where it waits to be trucked a week ago. It's only 3 hours away and I would go drive and get it myself because my EDD went from 12/23 to 12/30 to 1/5 to 1/10 and then 1/15. My dealer told me about 3 weeks ago he expected it between 1/5-1/15 and after learning that another member here who lives in the same vicinity of me from the railyard if not further had his delivered my dealer goes on to inform me that the EDD on his end is now 1/14-1/19... So basically my car is on schedule to sit in a rail yard a few hours away exposed to the elements for almost a month. Yea ford that makes a lot of sense.. All the while I get to lose out on the $500 dream big rebate that expires 1/5 and a $750 cash offer I got in the mail that expires on 1/3... Absolutely perfect! :tsk: :frusty:

very sorry to hear that....dont take my comment personal lol -- its just that i guess everyone that has been active on this forum for a while just dealt with it  I hated my 16+ week wait. but it is worth it in the end.

Ordered in early June...received in early December...garaged until the late spring (deployed)...the rail situation is just one of those things that cannot be expeditied and there are some things that don't make sense such as the "How did so and so who ordered in August get his vehicle well before all of us?" sort of thing? I agree that Ford (and other manufacturers) might want to look into alternatives to rail delivery for the future, especially for dealerships closer to the assembly plants.

Why don't you just go to a dealer and buy one off the lot?

OK, I have to get this off of my chest!

I ordered my car in July, dealership finally placed the order in August. Since then, I have had numerous changes to the delivery date, and just when it's finally down to seven days, the dealership informs me that it's been pushed back another week!!! WTF??? It's "supposedly" been finished since November 20th (their date!), but it's still sitting on Ramp 51!! I've watched the weather and everything else.... but cannot find a reason!! I'm sick of this game. I know it's only a $40K Mustang and not a Shelby or other high dollar car, but it is also my seventh, and if I cancel this order, which I'm leaning toward, my last! We have two Mustangs, a Fusion, and a SuperCrew in the DW, so it's not that I don't love Fords, but they are losing me very quickly!! No one has even offered an explanation!

WAY TO GO FORD!!!

***Rant off***

The dealer stock just sucks in some areas, that's why I had to order.

The whole order process seems to have issues, there is no way I should possibly be getting my car before other's who have ordered months before me.

I just ordered mine today, and I'm expecting a 16 week wait. No problem at all.
