Im hard wiring my valentine 1 in and also looking at putting my amp and subs in my car...problem is I cannot seem to find a keyed power fuse?? My voltmeter pins are too big for these little bitty speciality fuses so I cannot easily check. I have tried probably 7 fuses with no luck they all have power..

Just ordered a ATR-Micro2 Add a Circuit from Amazon, $9. http://www.amazon.com/SHIPPING-ADD-...=1417998561&sr=8-1&keywords=atr+add+a+circuit

In looking at the fuse box in passanger well there are several Non used fuses, I am HOPEFUL to find one that is off of the key...the rub for me today (I was installing my Escort) was NO One in my area had the Micro2 Fuses, or add a circuit. They had the Mini and Regular, but not the new style. Running the cord was relatively easy down the A column...if you what fuse is key operated please let me know, and when I get the part and finish install I will post what circuit I used.

Please share, I am looking to do the same thing once I get my car back from the shop.

He'll I just wrap the wire around 1 side of the fuse...no need to waste 10 bucks.

As for the remote wire on the amp I believe I can tap into the power antenna

Hey guys, just a safety tip here...

If you're running a wire down your A pillar please be aware that there is an airbag in there. You want to make sure you route that wire in a location that will not be in front of the airbag. If it's in front of or too close to the airbag, in the event that it deploys you will probably find that whatever you have plugged in can become a flying projectile in the car.

Yes, I found this out when I ran the wire this weekend...you can pull the gasket to the side and slide the wire that way...DO NOT try and yank the A pillar off. Forgot to mention this earlier. I will find fuse when the weather breaks in NJ, or I can get the car in my Garage...

Well, I never found a fuse. I did however, find a keyed hot wire in the trunk. There is a group of wires near the speakers...if you follow that, it y's off and some go to the decklid. If you remove some of that insulation, there is a blue/white wire that is 12v keyed. If I knew how to get the center console out, I would probably wire my radar detector to one of my cigarette lighter plugs.

I think you may be running into the weird version of Retained Accessory Power that Ford is using which makes it look like they are always hot.

My front console cig lighter/power port stays on for a very long time after the car is off and eventually turns off. I'm used to GM's implementation where when you open the door it kills the R.A.P.

I spent about 20 minutes looking at it for my V1 before and haven't gone back since, but I need to. I would think that on the kick panel box, fuse #5 which is the subwoofer amp, fuse #27 which is the amplifier or fuse #33 which is the Audio Head Unit should all be switched.

I have had my V1 in all of them mentioned. I can leave my car on over night, and its still on. I had my doors opened for a while, enough for the lights to go off on the inside with the key inside my house...All fuses stayed on. It seems as the fuses on these cars are just that, but they are always on and the electronics control whether or not they are on or not.

I have installed a lot of amps and stuff...This is the first car I have ever installed one in that there was not a keyed fuse.

BTW, I absolutely hate the line output converters....The subs sound like shit...This is my second time ever using one....The kicker 750.1 and 2 12" kicker CVR's slammed in my 2000 with the mach sound system and a cheap bluetooth JVC deck....made my windshield flex in and out, with very clean bass....Total disappointment in my 15'...

Yeah my guess would be #33 as well. The Audio Head Unit fuse is the one I ran a Wire Tap off of in my 2005.

Just messed up the radio...not sure what the hell happened, but in pulling fuses and checking voltage, the radio portion is stuck in HD Radio and the power button won't work.

Have you tried getting in your car, closing the door and locking it then sitting for about 10 minutes and then testing 33? If it works the same as my Explorer everything gets a little power when I unlock and open my door. I wonder if Keyed Power just doesn't exist anymore?
