I use both ACC and PWR for my dashcam. I used fuses 2(pwr) and 23(acc).

Flak,

I didn't count the pin layout. It was sufficient to have the last 2 with an idea of additional pin.

In other words - I was too lazy to go out and count.....

With your ground spot, did the power go off when you put the car in reverse? Mine is ACC also, and with BLIS.

I will check both with reverse on, though if I were a bettin' man the ground is simply grounded so we're likely just screwed with the +12v disconnecting on reverse. I'm confused why it would do that, though. Seems completely irrelevant just for an auto dimming rear view.

Also, why does it need ~5 wires? Is the daylight sensor in there too?
I would think that they would cut power to the auto-dimming mirror to ensure that you have maximum visibility when backing up.

Out of curiosity, why not tie into one of the power points? They appear to turn off a little while after the ignition and on with the ignition..... Not immediate shut off, but better than nothing.

Pulling fuse number 33 or any other one shouldn't do anything....It shouldn't matter...I mean if a fuse blows and you put a new one in, you aren't going to disconnect the batter to replace it....I wouldn't on any other vehicle. Did you get your radio straightened out? I had pulled number 33 and it just reset my radio...nothing messed up.
Problem was when I checked Voltage on the fuse. When Positive was on positive I had 12v, I did something then went to check voltage again but switched the leads and that's when things went south. I started with 12v, then the voltage started to drop, I stared in bewilderment then switched Positive & Negative and then had a full 12v. Switched one last time and voltage started at call it 10v, then kept ticking down, at about 8v I stopped, and then I had the issue. SO not sure what that was all about, and yes the car was off.

It shouldn't matter but Sync/MFT can be buggy that way. Happened to me on my Explorer when a fuse blew and I pulled the wrong one. MFT got stuck in a boot loop until I disconnected my battery and let it reset.
Yes it was weird!

I found a closer way to get switched power for your radars. It turns on and off with the starter button. This is a view from outside the car from the front.

Exactly how I wired mine, I have a GT PP & 50th Pkg. Reverse definitely cuts out power

Just saw the reverse comment. Same on the mirror. Turns off in reverse. No biggie, unless you can go over the speed limit in reverse
LOL!!!!!!

Sorry for the double post missed this in the multi...

The Over-headlights had no power that turned off. The lights are like a 3 way switch. There is always power up there, or at least in my testing. If you find, please let me know, I had power on the 2 lights all the time and I was fearful of messing with the air-bag sensor.

Great! Thanks. I'll mo my ground to that pin. I was thinking that it must be done kind of switched ground connected to the reverse light power. Most likely for the camera in mirror type option in the 5G models.

FYI,

I just installed the MT-2009 9", worked flawlessly in this config does NOT turn off in reverse. It also turns on/off immediately instead of the 10 minute 'comfort batter drain' BS Ford has going on with accessories in the 12v plug.

I do have 401A/ACC, not sure how either of those packages affect the mirror pins though, if at all. I should note the mirror tap leads ended up fitting on mine facing up, on the top side of the molex pins.

Used these pins which I checked myself with my multimeter:

Exactly how I did mine, but it does turn off in reverse. I have the PP, and 50th, Ebony Interior.

I tried it like Flak did. It is switched with ignition and does not shut off when going into reverse. That means the first ground right above the positive is switched. I have BLIS/ACC premium PP.

Great point! I did it like this with power, and grabbed the ground above the power...I will switch today...interesting they switched the ground, but I guess that makes sense. THANKS again! :clap2:

Thanks for this. I got my MT today with the smaller pins since my old one's were way too large and ready for a replacement anyway.

Worked perfect.

Flak's idea worked for me too. (no power off in Reverse) The ground went to where a Blue wire was on my GT Premium, Performance Pack, 50th Package, 401a, Nav car. Thanks for the help guys!

Well, I never found a fuse. I did however, find a keyed hot wire in the trunk. There is a group of wires near the speakers...if you follow that, it y's off and some go to the decklid. If you remove some of that insulation, there is a blue/white wire that is 12v keyed. If I knew how to get the center console out, I would probably wire my radar detector to one of my cigarette lighter plugs.
You are a lifesaver! I am installing my subwoofer and amp and did not want to run a switched wire all the way to the front of the vehicle.

For LE, do I use ground above red Switched power or the one 4 slots over on the bottom?

Use the one blackened in. 4th over. The upper one is a switched ground. It turns off your detector when in reverse.
