Even before the Qtech magic, DIB is a cracking colour on the Mustang,
hard to believe it's being discontinued.

Enjoy the buffing !

In theory, this will be its first wash since build - so hopefully very little correction required....

I would have preferred vinyl wrap instead of transit cover (as it flaps aboit and any trapped detritus scrubs the paint) although, it looks as if it had been applied to some surfaces (doors for example) and subsequently removed.

Whilst I was waiting in the dealership, I spotted a new Mondeo looking rather nice in DIB. Except I then saw the state of the front valance. Looked as if it had been driven up a steep gravel incline! Lower bumper and splitter (painted) absolutely mullered.

Suffice to say - none of the sales staff had spotted it...

My detail guy was very impressed with the paint quality on the GT. Thought it had much less orange peel BMWs

When youput the rear plate on did you stick it below the 2 round screw holes which stick out or did you put it over the top of them?

It's temporarily fixed below the screw holes at the moment, but I'll be revising it as I prefer a physical securing to the car than adhesive (even though I've got 3M red double sided which makes a mega strong bond).

On the front, I have a powered Sto and Show :)

Quick update. Poor weather and the discovery of a dent :-o has meant that the prep is taking a bit longer than planned (as I lost time taking it to the dealer to review).

Issues to sort so far...

Subtle pushed in dent on driver side, just behind rear quarterlight. Can be pulled with paintless dent repair - guy coming Tuesday to sort (though was tempted to do myself, as I have a paintless repair kit and have sorted similar damage to my other cars in the past)

Paintwork mostly good. A few surface scratches to polish out - rear decklid, lip of front nose (and an odd semi-circular fault which looks like it's in the plastic?). Scuffs above drivers door no doubt from logistics drivers getting in and out. Scuff on driver side chrome trim - for same reason. Wheels have overspray from the underseal (sigh). Worst is offside rear. Will try to rectify or just ask for a new wheel! Going to take them all off to prep and seal tomorrow hopefully.

On the plus side, interior all good, panel fit all good. Bonnet doesn't 'pinch' bumper, boot doesn't foul rear bumper.

I'll document the entire prep process - but there are loads of pics to wade through! Hopefully some up this eve.

It looks a hell of a lot better without stickers and covers though :headbang:
