I'm too old to have loud exhaust like my other cars but I like a good tone. To be honest the factory exhausts on my 15 gt isn't bad for staying under the radar.

I'm looking for a tiny bit more grumble but nothing crazy. So far I have found American thunder axle backs or a magnaflow tru x resonated mid pipe. I was thinking the x pipe first. It's hard to tell sounds from youtube and cold start is important to me, I already piss off the neighbors with my bike.

Anyone have experience with just one of these mods?

Fyi the MF true x is quiet as stock and is used to tame louder exhausts. Could consider a mild ab or a simple H pipe replacement for the suitcase resonator.

Oh ok. I thought it gave it a little more tone with stock mufflers. That's what some of the youtube videos were saying. Is the mildest axle back the American thunder?

Flowmasters tend to drone. Borla S type or Ford Performance Touring are quieter options but still more than stock when keeping stock resonator.

Inexpensive but good sound
Resonator delete and flowmaster fx mufflers mellow but good sound, no drone

On a budget it looks like pypes and flowtech have nice big mufflers on there axle backs as well but no idea how they sound.

I will check that out thanks

The FX are a different type of flowmaster. The oval are a glass pack but the louvered tube in center leans from 1 side to orther. It tames the sound much better than a regulay glass pack. I use it on truck and mustang

If you want the longer FX put them in place of resonator then do a muffler delete.

I've had the Tru-X installed with everything else stock. It has its subtle differences. The tone is changed a bit and it may be a tad louder at certain rpms.

I was like you and wanted something that wasnt too loud. I started with the Tru-X and later added Roush axle backs. I think this is a good quieter setup that still sounds good at WOT.

I've seen people say that adding a Tru-X to Roush axle backs will make it sound stock, it does not.

Exhaust comes down to what you like the sound of the most. You could start with an X or H resonator delete and wake it up some sound wise, then add in an axleback if you want a little more sound out of it. Or you can do a full catback up front. Have a few options in stock depending on what you like the sound of and what your budget is.

Sounds like you need a resonator delete. We sell X and H pipe resonator deletes which save on weight and will result to a nice deep toned growl to the exhaust even with stock mufflers.

H-Pipe is going to wake it up, but the cold starts are going to be much louder. I installed the h-pipe but ordered magnaflow competition axlebacks to get a deeper tone. Haven't installed them yet.
