Lol... What do they want to control? What time I take a shit or go to bed?

This is some delisonal stuff right here.

Believe it or not some people do want to ensure that pollution is reduced. Do I believe looking at tuned cars is the best way to do that... 100% not. One cruise ship puts out more pollution in 1 voyage that all of our cars will with no cats over their entire life combined most likely. Once they get out to sea they can legally burn the nastiest burning fuel imaginable.
They want control in the government over people, it is the opposite of freedom. This statement does not mean I don't think we need some regulation or that air pollution doesn't exist. There are things that can absolutely can be done, but as usual as can be shown through out all of history of government, they are usually more interested in control than results. Want an example, compare the free market to feudalism, communism, or any other heavy government control.

If you think we have a free market I have more bad news for you. Virtually everything you buy and use on a daily basis is not truly free market.

Gas prices are heavily subsidized. Farming and stuff to put food on the table is heavily subsidized by the federal government. Tons of companies use huge grants from the government to start their businesses and R&D.

The government (rightfully so) subsidizes a ton of shit because people are wayyyy more poor on average than you might realize.

We are a mix of capitalism/socialism. By no means are we truly a free market society. A truly free market would be terrifying. China most likely has the closest thing to that you will ever see. Yes technically the Chinese government owns all businesses but they have very little restrictions and oversight lol

I don't see this changing as it's pretty black and white. Just because they have gotten away with it for year's won't hold up in court. As they say all good things come to a end šŸ¤·

Doesnā€™t sound good for Lund. I just ordered a tuning device and tune; should be here on Friday. I could tell there is some weird stuff going on with all of the tuners I spoke with. I did not go with Lund. I donā€˜t get why the two big tuners are either flat out refusing to use SCT devices or highly trying to push customers away from them. The big name tuners are pushing the HP RTD tuner which I want nothing to do with for a basically stock 93/85 tune. They just keep saying its better. What is the real story here with SCT? And what is HP RTD providing the tuners that has them pushing them so hard for their customers. No UCAL tuners available and they donā€™t know when they will get more. No one wants to sell SCT. The only option for new orders is really the HP RTD. Doesnā€™t jive with me.

What is the real story here with SCT?
It's in SCT's terms of service.

In a nutshell SCT claims ownership of all tunes, even the tunes you write.

That still doesnā€™t change the fact that SCT has been a main stay of the tuning world for a long time, and overnight, the big tuners are walking from them. Maybe Iā€™m missing something.

It's been awhile since I read their terms but that and some other things made me say "no way in hell would I use them"

Doesnt sound good for Lund? Huh? Everyone of name is going to the RTD, and Lund got off without any charges. Are you reading the same thing I am or just whining about SCT?

And there have been negative effects from the subsidized items you quote as an example. Has led to inefficiency and more poverty, along with misplaced capital.

Glad you brought up the Chinese, as even the most hardened communist have been able to understand, that what is most scary in a free market is the success it brings.

Hell yea brother. Just make it like the old days when kids worked in mines and companies paid people in company credit to use at the company store for groceries and such.

Bring back the sweat shops!

If you look at the history of all the events again you are referring to, competitive work environments were ending those in the us. When we(the US) get involved in foreign countries to try to do those things today, it leads to more unemployment, corruption and usually worse conditions when the companies we force change in go under. As society has evolved, so has working conditions, quality of life, and so on. When the people have a decision rather than a person it almost always works out better.

I'm not sure I would interpret some random statement in a poorly written article to mean that Lund isn't being fined. I think we all know that Lund historically did some things that others have been fined for so it is highly unlikely the EPA put all that effort in just to overlook the ability to fine them.

Mostly just trying to figure out the sudden shift to the RTD tuner. Whining is not in the picture buddy. Would just like more options than running that RTD device and a laptop. Would prefer the UCal over the SCT but definitely donā€™t want the RTD. You seem a little touchy, and yes by his own admission, it sounds like they ar a little nervous over there at Lund. Nothing personal against them on my end.

I got tuned by Lund two months ago; no issues. I believe they are in the middle of moving though. Probably have a lot going on so perhaps you misinterpreted your interaction with them?

Used the RTD with no issue. Literally click a button on a laptop to log. That's it. Really neat being able to look throughout the whole log and see precisely what your car is doing. I've never used an SCT device but if it's anything like an access port the RTD is a much better tuning tool. I'm a boosted application though so I guess I can see your hesitation to drop the coin to get an RTD and all that it requires. I'm sure there are options available that better suite what you're looking for. Best of luck.
