Love the pic and welcome to the 'light'. Really a great picture showcasing that ruby.

I have the quad tip Roush axle back like someone else mentioned above with the stock resonator in place. I have all ports open and it is an awesome growl with zero drone because of the resonator. You could actually keep your stock exhaust and try taking out the resonator and add an H pipe with the option of always putting in back in for whatever else you might try in the future. I will never change my exhaust from the Roush set up though for me....too perfect.

Neither Borla nor Corsa are particularly "deep," more high and "exotic."

MBRP Street is deep down low and does not drone at all, but will be raspy when new, though that really moderates (at least mine has) as it gets 1000+ miles on it.

The videos of the Solo exhaust sound awesome. Wish I had learned of that one before I bought the MBRP.

Thank you all! Appreciate the input about the exhaust question. I think I am going to go with a Solo setup trying to decide between mach and thunder tho. I am a little worried about thunder being a little too loud. Also is there a forum sponsor who can help with a Solo purchase and maybe get a little discount over the soloperformance website prices :).

If the headers didn't require a tune I might agree with you, as I was a proud supporter of that act as well. However Ford is the least tune friendly manufacturer I've seen. It would cost you a lot of time and money to prove your case even if you could. There are a few threads on here on how ford reacts to customers with a tune. Any major engine malfunction and you're screwed.

I don't trust ford that much with my money to tune the car yet.
I hear you. I bought my car used with 6,000mi on it already, so I felt confident that if something was going to immediately fail, it would have done so by now. I just broke 10,000mi a couple weeks ago and things have been running flawlessly, so while tuning before warranty expiration is a calculated risk, I'm honestly not too worried about it. Yes, stuff happens sometimes, but life is full of risks, luck and chance to begin with. Just gotta roll with it.

I have just about 18mos left on the factory warranty anyway and I only drive into the office three days a week, so I'll hit the 36 month warranty barrier long before 36,000 miles. Plus, I'm pretty handy with mechanical stuff, so barring a MAJOR engine malfunction, I should be able to take care of the car one way or the other.

Big step up coming from a v6 5th gen. I had a loaded 2SS/RS and feel like the GT is a big step up. The ruby red is one of my favorite colors. Congrats.

Check out the Steeda axle-back. Nice deep tone without rasp. Mine drones a very little bit if I lug it around 1500 RPM in 6th gear. I wanted a deep, throaty sound and I'm really pleased with it.

@tritus I know you originally asked for a cat-back system recommendation, but just for an added variable, here's a quick Instagram video of my GT with a Heartthrob H-pipe and the Roush axle-back mufflers. The rumbling sound at idle, cruising and gentle revving is glorious IMO. The sound during a cold start up or under heavy acceleration is MEAN, but in an awesome kinda way. :) Not as raspy sounding as an X-pipe setup. Total cost is just over $700, plus a bit more if you have someone else install it. You'll save about $400-700 over the cost of a full cat-back system.

Unless Ford established that the aftermarket headers were the direct cause of the problem, they won't be a warranty risk.

Example: The turn signals stop functioning correctly and you take the car to a dealership to have them fixed. Since your headers have nothing to do with the turn signals, the repairs will be covered by the warranty.

Read up on the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act. Here's a good start: Link
I doubt he had the turn signals in mind with that statement lol. probably more worried about a motor blowing up or a clutch not being covered b/c of long tubes and a tune...or anything else they can loosely link to the mod

After losing my beloved gen5 Camaro 2LT in a very unfortunate accident I have decided to join the dark side and get a Mustang. All kidding aside I love all cars from all manufacturers. I pulled the trigger on a 15 GT Prem. with 50th yr Ap. package and after a long wait (dealership was 650 miles away) the car is finally here. All I can say is I am in love and not sure if it is the color but this thing is a neck breaker...

I spent the last 2 days reading about different exhaust systems here and would appreciate some advice on what would be a good catback setup to get a good deep (not raspy) tone. I am considering the Borla S type or Corsa Sport systems. MBRP street looks like it would be budget friendly but I would not want to risk any drone. Also which forum sponsor has the best prices? I had great experiences with our sponsors on Camaro5.com and would like to have a similar experience here if possible.

Deep and not raspy? Try Ford Racing Touring axle back then add a MRT H-Pipe if you want more sound.

Nice being able to see out your front window now, right?

I know your pain.

I have a burn mark on my arm from a LS1. I have family that worked at the Norwood, Ohio plant (built Camaros there) and the Fisher Auto Body (a GM contractor) in Hamilton, Ohio. Damn bowtie is literally in my body.

I was looking at the big 3 and when I took the company emblem off the front and asked myself which one was my car, same answer every time.

I found out after I bought my GT that my wife's Grandfather who worked at Fisher Auto Body owned a 1967 Mustang. He just couldn't drive it to work. Finding that out made everything seem right with the universe since I was already in love with my car.

Oh, I'm sure. I was just using an over-simplified example for clarity.

Congrats and awesome color.. I love my set up with the Corsa Extreme... Loud, in your face but quiet and controlled when you want to be or have to be (leaving my neighborhood).
