That was a major focus when I had my stripes painted. The hood and bumper cover are the only two pieces where stripes meet.can't now that stripes are down.
problem is that's an unsupported section of the hood and you're seeing 'sag'/shrinkage in the rather flexible material. The hood+fender shape is complex and if the mold/layup's contours doesn't compensate enough you get those effects. Some hard-foam could be contoured to support the shape from the underside to get the curvature right and thereby the gap would equalize.I'm sure it can be adjusted so it would have equal or at least close to equal gaps round&around and it wouldn't stick out like that
Would everyone leave this man and his car alone. The fitment is better than 95% of mustangs out there which is all that matters... no matter how much you want Bugatti fitment on an American Mustang you aren't going to get it. I suggest getting off the forum and letting the man enjoy his beautiful car and go drive around your 530i BMW douche bag machine.Yes, too bad. Because this really looks like car was crashed and poorly assembled back together. Like they didn't even bother to adjust the hood right. Like they threw it up and screw it on and that's it ... I'm sure it can be adjusted so it would have equal or at least close to equal gaps round&around and it wouldn't stick out like that.
Left side looks perfect, on the right side where rear flank meets door just isn't right on pictures. Gap goes from narrow to wide and back to narrow, longitudinal lines from side bulges are not aligned ... I don't know about Jaime, but I know for my self that I wouldn't be happy with such work and would demand a fix. It's not a cheap upgrade and not a good reference for Shelby.
I think I love your wheels the most...wonder if I can get them from Shelby?Well guys, my head is spinning from so much, all at once directly from the airport, after a 2.5 hour delay. Ended up jibber jabbing with Chris and Matt as they were all leaving for the day. I go back at 0830 tomorrow for a close up final inspection (with Benjamine), final delivery paperwork, test drive…….
For now, here is what I grabbed real quick for photos with my phone. Wife and I are exhausted and just made reservations at 930 at Javier‘s (thanks @Mayberry, I owe you!) and we are gonna go see the strip until then. Piece out for now.
well, OP is paying $$$$ so helping him spot and have the shop fix (if it can be) fitment issues is intended for him to have an even more "perfect" car. And if BMW/Porsche/Audi can do it for a tiny fraction of Bugatti money, Shelby should see if they can improve on the wart that is Ford sheet metal. Maybe this is as best as it can be made given the underpinnings and will just have to be chalked up to "it's a Ford, what can you do..."The fitment is better than 95% of mustangs out there which is all that matters..
