Just getting ready to purchase a CAI. Thought I was going to get the Airaid. Mike, sounds like you have had experience with both. Recommendations?
I had a JLT on my 2012 GT. I have an Airaid on my EcoBoost. Looking at both designs, you would think the Airaid is the superior design, since it is a sealed design and this is open, although within a surround that is sealed once the hood is closed. This produced better numbers on the dyno, but you have to wonder how it would have performed with the hood closed.....

I think they will both work, and work about the same. The JLT is a good design and it will sound better, that I can assure you of.

I think he means could we see a plot starting from 2k instead of 3k and going until 6k+ instead of ending at 5.5k?

I would second that as I (and I'm sure other people) are very curious to see what there is to gain above 5k. I mean, c'mon, revving out to redline is fun ;)
Yes, this, thanks. I assumed that it started at ~1.5k and it was zoomed in to show the gains.

With ours sealed to the hood when closed it's actually getting as much or more air than one completely closed off like the Airaid.
When your on the dyno, your running the car from about 50-15 MPH. Do you think the dyno fan simulates that?? ;)

At speed you get tons of air in the grille inlet and all around the car to the filter. That's why we DO NOT seal the filter.

Thanks
Jay

I've posted my iat's with jlt. They are tighter than the stock intake and drop WAY faster than the stock intake after heating up at a red light

From today

Dropped it back off at Livernois today

We are waiting on the BOV fittings and they should be here Friday or Monday.

What I want to mention is we have tons of shop kits going out as well which should get us more dyno results soon.
Revolution
VMP
Latemodel
CFM
MPT
SCT
BBR
CJ
and more will be getting kits next week for testing and I hope to see more results to post.
We are also looking for a local stick car to do more testing on ourselves.

We like to test on at least 2 car or more to get a good true gain our customers can expect.
This car being an auto was all over the map depending on the run, heat and load, so I took the fairest average runs in each configuration for comparison.
More numbers from 3rd partys coming next week I hope.
Thanks
Jay

Well, Jay, you know I am a fan of your intakes. I had one on my 2012 until the day I sold it. Why don't you send me one and we can have the same bet we had with the GT, if you remember? I am not impressed with the Airaid and would rather have yours. I can do a comparo....at the track ;)

BOV fitting? I'm confused now. I thought the BOV was on the charge piping to the intercooler.
