I have been looking at a set of jacking rails. Some that are out seem to be about 1" in height and will extend down beyond the height of the pinch weld while other are shorter than the pinch weld.
Do you have a preference for the rail height: longer than the pinch weld or shorter?
My thinking is if it extends beyond the pinch weld, you will no longer be able to use the pinch weld to support a jack or stand. You will be forced to use on the rail. My concern is if you have a scissor jack that goes on the pinch weld that you will no longer be able to use it to change out a tire, etc.
If the rail is recessed (shorter) than the pinch weld, how do you get the jack to reside only on the rail and not put pressure on the pinch weld which is what you are trying to protect.
Thoughts????
