if it is the only mod on the car I would say no. this aint a foxbody where a cat back could actually add a few. times are different and stock exhausts are actually pretty good aside from the sound under most instances make just as much power as the axle/catbacks do without a tune. maybe you save a few pounds of weight (I think my roush catback dropped about 15lbs from stock IIRC)

I don't know about peak power but the borla s type adds around 30hp at lower rpms according to some dyno numbers I saw a while ago. I picked one up with my turbo kit but installed it first and it's definitely noticeable how it pulls. I swapped the x pipe out for borlas resonator to quiet it down and the extra umph was gone. Main difference is the x is 3" and the resonator is only 2.5" through until the connects.

I replaced the stock suitcase resonator with the Borla Switchfire. They claim 2% gain over a common X-pipe. That's probably 15-20 hp, but the sound is nowhere near as raspy as x-piped cars I've heard. No droan either. Best mod at this point for me.

I saw a couple dyno graphs from reputable places a few years ago showing that a borla atak 3 inch catback was worth 8-10 whp on Gen 3's...but who knows. I couldn't really tell a difference with just the catback.

Catback alone will make it sound faster, maybe rev to redline a little faster (which feels like more power). Even a tune is limited. I'd be looking at long tube headers and high flow cats with the exhaust. Catbacks just make more noise.

Better to ask the question and receive feedback, versus not doing so, laying out the $$$ and realizing there was little, if any, HP/performance change. I'd think you'd gain a handful of HP from the swap, but virtually every exhaust post I've read (FWTW) the person was attempting to achieve a particular sound. Any HP gains were certainly welcome.
