Hi folks,

This may sound dumb but it is info we all need to know. And if you know, please tell me. :p
I have a pretty good idea of getting *into* the car should the battery die. There is a key in the fob you can use under the door handle. (Seeing this in action may actually be helpful as I am very visual)
Now...what if you are inside? Is there a secret latch?
The manual only tells me what to do if the fob dies, at least from my search.
Can someone explain or provide a link to a video regarding the manual method of exiting?
Thank ewe :)

Inside the car as how to open the door when the battery is dead?
You just pull on the handle, the handle would unlock the door even it's locked.
They don't make locks that disable the handle when locked anymore due to safety issue.

yep.

The handle and latch are still mechanical both inside and out. The last thing you would ever want in an electrical fire is an electronic door latch.
You mean like how the owner of a corvette who died due to extreme heat when he didn't know there is a hidden handle he could pull when the battery died?:D

 How awful. He must've panicked big time. I probably would just deal with my embarrassment and call 911 :p

Didn't have a phone & didn't know about the manual release lever on the floor.
Maybe Chevy should have painted it red or something.
I don't get why putting it on the floor. What's wrong with a mechanical latch when the engines are still push rod.

Is the yellow pull in the trunk an escape option?

I know a Cadillac XTS owner that broke the window because the battery died and he didn't know about the lever.

XTS has a door handle tho.
Also I think the corvette has a lock hole on the bottom of the door in case the door is closed and locked when the battery is dead.
