Very sad indeed. I'm glad it wasn't worse, though.

Hope you're back in your Mustang or a replacement Mustang soon!

Glad you are alright. We had an EB Premium in our body shop that had $22k in damage, it did not get totalled. They replaced front end, back end, both rockers, intercooler, and more. It went in a ditch. That doesn't look like a totalled car if the only damage is in the back quarter, assuming frame not bent.

Get diminished value and use as down payment lol. Just remember you will be hit hard when selling/trading it in the future with any marks on carfax.

I plan to keep the car and not trade it or sell it after the warranty is done it's turning into a project car so getting rid of the car won't happen

Push for a total! It will take forever to get parts for! Also if not your fault PM me and let their insurance know that you also expect diminished value ( still considered brand new under a 1,000 miles) to make your car whole again including value.

Note OP, mine was in the shop for 120 days waiting on parts! Parts are still a big issue. And that was with Ford's CEO involved after 45 days.

Why did it take so long for the parts? Are they just not making them or what is the deal?

seat air bags took 90 days they couldn't find extra, CEO took 2 weeks to find, The replacement seat belt was bad and then took two weeks for the CEO to have his people find another one. They are building a ton of them, the line comes first no matter what, they have to keep rolling off the line, lot's of parts still not out locally, air bag system parts are hard, look at the cars in for service Ford can't get parts for and then the owner lemon laws it for more than 30 days in the shop first 12 months/12,000 miles. Why to you think some weeks of cars get held for "QC hold", they don't have parts to finish like air bags. Then they install later as more come in that the line don't need. Yes Ford as a parts supply issue. That was 3 months ago but what I read in the issue section parts are still a issue.

Good thing it doesn't need air bags and they are redoing the back seats because the glass got put into the back seat when towed
