Just remove the drive shaft, jack up car, check and write down breakaway torque, remove the pinion nut, pull off yoke, pry out old seal, seat new seal, install yoke install pinion nut, torque to same break away as before, install driveshaft

I recommend counting threads too before removing. Extra insurance to avoid preload issues. My experience is not from the Ford though, so may be irrelevant.

Some of the things I've read suggest using a center punch to index the nut and count threads to return it to the exact point. Seems like you don't have to use a torque wrench with this method.
Never done it though, only read about it so take it for what it's worth...

I’d use the thread count as more of an extra layer of confidence, the torque value seems more definitive as long as it doesn’t get hung up early on something.

What concerns me is the "staking of the pinion nut"
So the current pinion nut is staked, if so then I'll need a new nut?

Yes.
All differentials I’ve done the pinion nut is 1-time use.

There are some tips in here (under pinion bearing/crush sleeve section) that may help you.

Wow very insightful. I'm just trying to replace a leaking pinion seal. I don't mind doing it, I just want to know what all I need to replace and tools to accomplish. Thanks
