I like my JLT catch can it's very simple just one down side is how the can could/can just bounce off the motor. I'm not all knowing about knock sensors and false knock or if that would even cause it.

Basically would it be bad to zip tie it like this? Do you think the zip tie would just melt off or cause any real issues?

It shouldn't except when you go to check it on your next oil change and empty it that ziptie is going to be annoying. Messing with your knock sensor? I seriously doubt it.

Why not just get a small piece of thin black foam with the adhesive back (ie weatherstripping) and put a small piece on the bottom part of the can if you're worried about it tapping against the engine. I haven't had that problem with mine at all.

I've had the same catch can for 30k miles and never had false knock from it. Mine just hangs there as designed.

Won't cause any issue but like mentioned above, you'll have to cut it off every time to drain it. I wouldn't imagine the can smacks against the engine though even under hard acceleration.

Not a GT, but when I had a JLT can on my 3.7, it definitely was causing false knock. Took me a little while to track it down to that, but as soon as I removed the can, the knock went away.

I guess it would be OK, but PO's user name definitely checks out.

I zip tied mine by the plastic elbow on the right to the coolant overflow return line around the protective sleeve. I cut it off every oil change. No biggie.

I noticed that my JLT was resting on the cylinder head. I happened to find a Koozie can cooler that fits over Red Bull sized cans. It slipped over the base of the JLT and has stayed put for over 1000 miles.

Wow that's funny it's the same size as a 12oz can of beer - or soda if that's your thing.
