Is there a way to upgrade sync 3 software?

i know that sync 3 has the wifi on it and says it will update us that way, but we just bought a 2017 GT and it has sync 3 and the software version is 2.0, on my GT350 its 1.0, the maps seem to look brighter and better and a few other goodies-has android capabilities, but not apple play that im waiting for, but when i turn mine on, it says it checked for update already and nothing. So if there is obviously a newer software version why cant we have it?

It could only support updates for minor versions, not major. So 1.x can keep upgrading but won't go to 2.x due to hardware or major firmware change?

Just guessing. I'd like to know this as well.

They simply haven't released an update over the air for version 2.0. Yes, '17s ship with it.

We'll see how Ford's rollout strategy goes for version 1.0 units. I'd expect they'll do OTA for v2.0 and Apple CarPlay will simply be disabled unless it has the newer revision of the USB hub (or whatever it needs) since Android Auto should work on the hardware as-is.
