If it does get axed, I should of never cancelled that 18, they will be worth a fortune if they are the last of the Mustang.

I quite frankly cannot believe it.

In other news Jag are terminating their contract for Ford V8 earlier than expected, with rumours being V8 SC will be no more, maybe even V8 too, so if true will help bolster residuals on Jag V8 SC cars.

Interested to see what happens... he will be aware that mustang, fusion and fiesta saved fords ass in the last big recession, hence why the 550 got the nod to be developed to the car it is now.

So let’s wait for Detroit and see what he says

Gibbo I ain’t gone be alive long enough to see current jags appreciated I am only 45 :)

S650 has been cancelled, yes.

BUT......

It does not mean the Mustang is cancelled.

It does not mean the S550 won't still get significant updates within those original timescales.

Look for a heavily revised S550 for the '21MY :)

Is it definitely cancelled then? Was the S650 not scheduled to make use of more aluminium to save weight? Can the current S550 chassis design be adapted to aluminium construction? .... if not, I can't help thinking that canning the S650 would be a BIG mistake - the current car needs to be lighter.

Are the bean counters now in charge at Ford? Are Ford really struggling that much to be profitable that they need to cancel the next generation of a car that was a massive success for them and instead produce some kind of 'half-arsed' update?

It may not mean the Mustang is cancelled in the short term, but are we witnessing the beginning of the end for the Mustang here? ..... no significant investment in the next generation because it would have been the last?

Cancelled means cancelled - perhaps the end of the V8 - maybe an electric version?

Once again......S650 is cancelled, yep. S550 will be heavily modified for the '21MY and the V8 will live on :)

That could be good, the progress they made with the S550 on MY18 was very impressive. So a perfected S550 in 2021 would be nice but as others have said it does need to go on a diet, mine was 1710kg and that was after everything I did so any weight saving would be good improvement.

21MY guesses:
- Gen3 500HP Coyote V8
- Perfected A10
- Brembo brakes all round
- two-piece brembo disc all round
- More forged wheel options
- More lightweight suspension parts, arms, cradles etc

0-60 in 3.5s and 0-100 in 7.5s, quarter in 11.7@125mph ;)

Think if they could get it to 500HP / 1650kg for 2021 would be nice, can't see them going much lighter in all honesty and in fairness by 2021 it will probably be the last NA V8 EU available to buy with pretty much every other brand now moving to downsizing and turbo charging.

Oh expect it to cost around 60k and expect a 80-100k GT500 maybe. :)
