Is the Ford Performance engine worth it?

I can't seem to find many reviews or people's experience with a Google search.

I'm currently in the market for a new engine as mine went after having low oil. Completely my fault because I didn't keep up checking it. I changed the oil right at the end of the Summer so its only been about three months since my last change. Anyway the warranty claim is denied so I'm stuck with the repairs out of pocket.

So to get a replacement longblock from Ford it is about $5200. The Ford performance long block will run me about $6600. The price difference isn't that significant, but would it really be worth the extra $1400. Obviously I'm going to continue modding the car lol. At its current state I have headers, intake, and e85 tune.

I had zero lights pop up regarding low oil. I haven't figured out how low it was because it's been absolutely freezing since this happened plus the holiday. But my dip stick isn't getting any oil readings on it.

The engine is definitely done. It's knocking louder than a diesel engine lol. I'd be very surprised if it's something repairable.

Thats just a stock engine. Sometimes the FP stuff is cheaper. The upgraded one is the aliminator.

Nothing abnornal. It always had that usual coyote tick from day one. This is my second mustang so the tick it had did not sound anything out of then ordinary. Never had any knock until this started. I know my exhaust is loud so sometimes it's harder to hear things, but every morning I started it on quiet mode and there was never any abnormal sounds that I could pick up.

M-6007-A50NAB is the FP upgraded one with forged pistons and H beam rods. It’s a bit more money though.

I just added about 5 quarts for it to show a reading on the dip stick.

I'm currently showing p0394, p0390, and p0524. The knocking sound has gone away significantly since adding oil but there is now a loud "tick".

Not to kick a man while he's down, but it's no surprise that adding back half the required amount of oil made a difference. The question is still, where did those missing five quarts to begin with. Did they stay on the shelf at wherever you got the oil changed? An engine consuming or losing five quarts of oil in a short time or distance should have been visually noticeable in either situation. I would look into the possibility that they did not fill the car when you had the oil changed.
