Even if I got the Package that would be 100% turned off even if I have to cut wires. I have yet to have ANY brand of that system not trigger more times to annoy me than help me. I know a light is "supposed" to mean something is there, but as a person that work in IT everyday I will NEVER trust it. We cant even get systems to even reliably turn on all the time, no way in HELL will I trust my life to one. If I have to look anyway, the pretty lights are useless to me.

I don't think the light in the mirror is supposed to replace you from turning your head to look for a car. It's there help you. The worst decision you can make based on the light (if you trust it) is to not make a lane change....If you don't trust it, the worst decision you can make is to make the lane change and get into an accident.

It's not there to encourage you to do something you wouldn't otherwise do. So to say you don't trust it, doesn't make sense.

The same could be said for AEB. "I don't trust it" It s not there to ask you to do something. It's there to same your ass, when you aren't paying attention....Although as sdiver68 says, they need work. I've only driven one car with it, and after 15 minutes, I was looking to see if I could turn it off, because every time I accelerated as I changed lanes, it would go off....thinking I was going to accelerate into the back of a car 50 yards down the road.

I agree that the older Mercedes blind spot system would go off for no reason in the past as I've experienced that a few times. In all 4 of my S550 Mustangs I've owned, all with BLIS, none have given me unnecessary lights. Really the only annoying safety tech to me these days is the automatic emergency braking. Most companies haven't perfected this and many are fooled by the typical scenario of a driver in front turning off to the right at a slower speed, I know I'll clear them without hitting but the car will think I'll hit them and often sets off the warning bells. Thankfully this "feature" isn't available on the Bullitt in the US.

Mothers MB I borrow when my car was in the shop would constantly trigger when I was approaching a bend in the road as if I was going to hit the trees.
Wife's Infiniti, just tonight, was giving me tons of rear warnings in the rain while I was doing 50mph, and nearly the only one on the road. No one was behind me. It also seems to have no logic in when it thinks it should tell you to brake. 2 bus lengths back, or just 10ft.
The BMW prior to the Infiniti would give side warnings at nearly anything with in 10ft of the sides of the car. Other cars, road signs, posts, guard rails...

And yet all 3 of these are constantly called really good somehow. I just see them as something that ADDS stress to my driving.
I'm surprised to hear that. I have a 2017 Kia Sorento and it never gives these false alerts. I would've thought MB and BMW would have better performing systems, despite some Kias now have former BMW and Audi design and engineering talent behind them. My Sorento gives very reliable warnings of passing and approaching vehicles. I especially like the cross traffic alert though, in the Sorento it warns of not only crossing vehicles, but nearby pedestrians as well who like taking their time walking across parking lots regardless of moving traffic. I know there's been time when I've park the Mustang with the nose in that I really wish I had cross traffic alert, even inching out sometimes don't prevent getting hit by phone text junkies.

Took a 100 mi drive today all highway and decided to check out the BLIS system. On over taking cars the yellow light came on once I was even nose to nose. It stayed on until the car I was over taking was about 25 feet behind me. On cars over taking me. Once the other vehicle was within 20 ft of my car light turned on and stayed lit until it was about 25-30 ft ahead of me. I am not sure if there is any audio warnings since I didn't hear any, had Apple play going and Nav routing a trip. Other then sound it worked flawlessly.

I wish you could identify a B&O system in car on a dealers lot easier via Fords site. I'd like to go check one out, and compare with the standard system. I think that's really the best advice I could give. I'm a fan of better audio quality, so hopefully it's not just one of those things where "i have a sub, it's at least placebo better'.

And on the 'Safe and Smart' package stuff, I don't plan to get it, and by the sounds of it, I'm in the right camp. Oddly enough what was really turning me off the most was the rain sensing windshield wipers. RainX for me, wipers only wipe when absolutely necessary. I don't want a wiper going nuts even though the water is running off on it's own. lol

Hi everyone,

I'm Bullitt hunting and would you guys say the B&O is really worth $2,100? Is it actually BETTER speakers or just MORE speakers? Nothing else in the Tech/electronics package really appeals to me so unless the B&O is really amazing vs the standard system I may just skip it.

Thanks.

Just incase anyone wants to know Why I don't have interest in the other parts:
• BLIS® (Blind Spot Information System) with Cross-Traffic Alert (CTA) - I haven't ever needed this in any previous car so I see no reason to get it now.
• B&O Play™ Premium Audio System by HARMAN (12 Speakers) includes CD Player, HD Radio™ and Subwoofer intrunk - This is my "Maybe". I have a nice Hi-Fi system at home, I listen to FLAC on nice quality headphones, but I've also never had any real complaint about the sound in any of my previous cars (Base model Altima, or 2004 Mach1).
• Memory: Driver Seat (three (3) settings), Mirrors, and Ambient Lighting - Only I will drive this car so I don't see a need for this.
• Voice-Activated Touchscreen Navigation System with SiriusXM Traffic and Travel Link® (SiriusXM Traffic and Travel Link® includes a five (5)-year prepaid subscription. SiriusXM Traffic and Travel Link® services is not available in Alaska and Hawaii.) - Not sure why I would use this when I'd be using Google Maps via the Android Auto.
I wish the B&O system would have been available on my '18. Compared to the Mach system on my '03 the Shaker system is not as good. Yes the subwoofer is better but the adjustments are crappy and the overall sound is not as good unless you like the bone rattling thumping of un-natural bass.

If BLIS works the same on Mustang as my 2017 Sorento, it will light up like yours did in the same condition, and will beep only if I activate the turn signal on the same side as the passing car. In this way BLIS is pretty unintrusive. The system in Sorento is supposed to take the speed of approaching cars into account as well when deciding when to alert, but I haven't tested this.

Don’t forget the digital dash and the 10 speed. Both are must haves!

Ford's BLIS system doesn't make any sound. The only sound it makes is for the rear cross traffic alert if it detects a passing car while yours is in reverse. If you put your turn signal on while driving with a car next to you, the BLIS light in the mirror just flashes.

Now you're not talking about Bullitts anymore, they're not available with the 10 speed and the digital dash is standard on all Bullitts. Different packaging than regular GTs.

If you're searching for a B&O equipped car, just use the "view window sticker" feature on Ford's site or the dealer's site, it's always listed on the sticker. As for rain sensing wipers, they're hit or miss with how well they work on most cars. It's part of the Safe and Smart package on regular Mustangs but for the Bullitt, it's not available and not included in the Electronics Package. Another feature from that package I'm glad was excluded from the Bullitt.

I wanted the BLIS+CTA so I ordered the electronic package and I am glad I did. I like the voice activated info screen and the B & O system also allows you to switch from stereo to surround sound which sounds great. The weather in New England has been awful so I haven't had a chance to drive mine much as it was delivered the 2nd week in Nov. Got it home minutes prior to a major snow storm. So I am still learning how to use all the tech it offers.

The BLIS works very well and is unintrusive. The only false tones I've had on CTA/Reverse sensing is sometimes it beeps once at the edge of my garage door, other than that it works well and is worth the extra peace of mind.
