At the risk of continuing to drag this thread off topic, I'd just like to say, and this isn't a dig at anyone, that I'm quite proud of the fact I've managed to stay collision-free without the aid of all these bloody nanny-aids that other people seem to RELY on on a daily basis.

Really, if you can't manage to look over your shoulder or alternatively, just pay enough attention to your surroundings and other traffic that one of these aids saves you having an accident, then quite frankly you should get the fuck off the road and leave the driving to those of us that can do it.

I mean come one, guidelines on the reverse camera to show you where you're going to end up? YOU CAN'T BLOODY REVERSE A CAR PROPERLY AND I HAVE TO SHARE THE ROAD WITH YOU WHEN YOU'RE LEGALLY ALLOWED TO DRIVE AT 70MPH?!?!

Remote start and the like, although not SYNC3 specific, are useful features, I question how much reliance people give the other safety features though...

I've come from a 450bhp TVR with no ABS, no Airbags, No TC, no side impact protection.....Nothing, the most exciting car I've ever owned:thumbsup:

The Mustang feels like a limo, with all these gizmos, that I'll probably never use:lol::lol:

Non of this helped when some old duffer in a Toyota decided that despite being in the left lane on a roundabout, with his left indicator on, he'd turn right anyway:doh::doh:

The thing that saved me was non of the gizmos, it was 37 years of defensive driving, and a sixth sense that this old fart would do something fucking stupid:headbonk::headbonk:...... He didn't disappoint:rant::rant:

To be honest, I can see both sides of the argument.

Our family car is a Focus Titanium X with all the safety stuff, and it can be useful.

BLIS and cross-traffic alert in particular are very good. With my commute id also really have liked the adaptive CC on the Mustang.

The self-parking feature on the Focus, not so good (although it does work) !

What a load of dodo
As someone else has just said they are Safety AIDS, of course you still look over your shoulder before you move onto a motorway or change lanes, but they help you.
And as for the Cross Traffic warning, if you have 2 high venicles next to you, speeding cars crossing your path behind you, the CTW is a BLOODY GOOD THING TO HAVE,
and I am not having a dig at anyone :clap2:
as for the reverse camera, only glance at it, prefer to see where i am reversing into, best thing its for is if you are trying to park in a tight spot, then its very good
I drove my S197 (5th Gen Mustang LHD Import Only) for 4 years in the UK with No driving Aids, went all over Europe also, so I can live without them, but they are a big help,

With the majority of road users being complete morons :D the last thing they need is more tech to blame when they hit someone or something.

I see them everyday, chatting on phones, FBing, talking and looking at their passengers, infact everything bar actually looking where they are going.

Didn't some twat in the States die last week as he decided to trust the autopilot feature of his Tesla and watch a movie instead.

Best safety aid is a big spike pointed directly at the driver's chest, attached to the steering wheel.
