Is ESS really any cheaper

I checked out the ESS kit and to be honest it's no cheaper than any other brand. By the time you add in the options that come standard with the pro charger kit or the Vortech kit the ESS kit cost just as much if not more. Options like fuel injectors, boost A pump. Tunings not even an option. So is it really any cheaper

It’s not a “cheap” kit . It’s a high quality kit that performs very well. All the kits do vortech , procharger etc…. Just depends if on what you want for your car. But if you get a comparable head unit with vortech procharger etc as the g3 you option more than likely you’ll be a little cheaper with ESS. But it all comes down to personal preference.

Depending on your goals the kit can be cheaper , like I said you add comparable head unit it is cheaper.

if you just wanna make 700-800 rwhp you can get g2 kit for with injectors and bap for 5225.

When I was comparing the ESS kit to the Procharger kits that a vendor here offers, it was cheaper till you added the tuning device and tune into the equation. The Procharger setup came with a canned tune, so ultimately if you were going to stick with that, the Procharger was probably cheaper in the end.

I chose the ESS kit because I liked the placement of the head unit, the way it installed, the engagement from the company on the forum, and there was a lot of positive feedback from people who'd installed the kit.

After having the kit for a while, I'm also very happy with the purchase. It cost me more overall with the tuning, but if I had gone with a custom tune for the Procharger setup, it would have been around the same.

My question is it any "better" than a Pro-Charger?

I have only had a Pro-Charger, but's high quality and has been an excellent upgrade for the past 7K miles. It's also USA Made.

I would buy it all over again.

I have nothing against the ESS kits nor anyone else's.

I've not had a Procharger setup, but I felt that the ESS kit was very high quality. The brackets, the head unit, and intercooler included were really nice quality. I didn't have any "issues" with the Procharger setup, but just felt pulled towards the ESS kit.

It's been said in so many words already but it's not about looking at it from the "cheaper" or 'better" viewpoint in my opinion. All the available kits are good quality and perform roughly the same. It's more about your preference for your car. I've owned a vortech V3si kit before and had no real complaint out of it except for the charge pipe on the passenger side would constantly blow off even with upgraded clamps, doing the hairspray trick, etc. The kit did what it was meant to do . The reason I went with ESS this time around was placement of the blower as opposed to the paxton/vortech and also the least amount of evolvement of install. I've read about having to have an extension on the crank or something like that for the procharger I think? For my personal preference I didn't want that extra even though the blower was in the same location as the ESS. Again, that was just my personal preference and no other reason. Also, I liked the fact that for the price I got a head unit that moved 1600cfm as opposed to the 1150-1200cfm on others ( I know the others had upgraded options as well).

As in $1500 cheaper that’s a pretty big difference in my opinion.

so it's the same as a basic procharger kit and $500 cheaper than a stage2 also paxton was only $6000 for the tuner kit and $7400 for a complete kit and this was just the first site i looked on. don't know where you are getting you're prices

Those aren’t comparable at all to what you spec out on ESS. You need to do a g2 then it would still be way cheaper.

i'm not going to say that there's no way you can't get a cheaper kit from ess but by the time you add in everything you need and want it's not much savings. you can't even run a ess in some states so it's not even a option. ess has a nice kit not saying they don't. in the end i think they are all going to end up about the same
