Everybody is ignoring the fact that the headphone jacks are prone to failure, leave an opening into the phone for water, and require a bit of physical space to place inside the case. AND, they give you the lightning adaptor with the phone.

I'm still getting this one. I don't care how much it costs or what it does. It has more than 16 gigs of storage and it's new and that's all I care about. I'm sure I'll love the other stuff.

So after watching the event, it's basically the same thing as the 6s. Lol you can probably just unlock the screen 2x faster (sarcastic voice). The two new colors are nice, jet black and the matte black but I always have a case on my phone so it wouldn't really matter. But I do love the headphone jack, it's very convenient. Suprises they got rid of it. :(. To make a new product? Airpods, 159$ no thank you. If anything your better off waiting for the 7S. Do love the fact that the new phone and watch are water resistant!
And the 6S is basically the same as the 6, that's basically the same as the 5S ... :)

Yeah, phones are mostly incremental updates to the core core components. Once we got: cameras, powerful CPU/GPUs, NFC, fingerprint scanner, multi-axis gyros, motion co-pros, BT, LTE, WiFi ... well, there's not a new major hardware feature, because there's not a new major Use Case for a mobile device. Apple has added tech to enhance the device like 3D Touch, but it's just a perk, it doesn't make the device do something radically new.

So the 7 has, vs. the 6S

Better front and rear camera (OIS on the non+ now)
Better flash
Killer dual cameras (on the Plus)
Better display
Faster CPU and GPU
Better battery life
Water resistance
Taptic home button (initially for water resistance, but I could see a some neat ways to use it)
Stereo output

The headphone jack, yeah, that's a non-issue for me. If I'm at home and want to use traditional headphones and/or an amp, I'll just use the adapter, when I'm using my phone as a music source, it's over Airplay (ATV >> Pioneer AV), I also moved to BT headphones a year ago, for travel, knocking around, great set from Phillips, < $30, run for 5-6 hours continuous use.

I also have almost nothing but bluetooth headphones... There are a few exceptions, but not having a headphone jack in the phone won't bother me much I think.

I think.

It would be perfect if Apple got the info of the person whose phone caused that and sent them a free iphone.

I'm kind of amazed at how much we knew about the new iPhone models before they were announced.

Even the registration of the name "AirPods" for the Bluetooth ear pods was known!

I'm waiting for iphone 7, I think.

My 6 is doing everything I need it to do... I see no reason to upgrade.

Although I would like to impress everyone by pulling up in my vert mustang, talking on my iphone 7. How cool would I look. lol

Not enough to warrant spending the $$$ for an "upgrade".

Depends where you're starting and your various use cases. For some folks, just the camera improvements alone are worth it. For someone still using a 5, it's significant upgrades in every component plus a number of new technologies (NFC, TouchID)

"Worth" is pretty subjective. :)

And like I've said (and said ...), don't expect much in the way of new hardware that radically changes the way you use a mobile device - the only thing at this point is some totally rethought physical design/display/chassis.

FWIW, I didn't pre-order, like the water resistance, the new Plus camera sub-system seems pretty incredible, but my current [primary] device (6S+) has been so good, I hate even starting up with a new device. That being said, I'm on a payment plan, so I can just switch devices and keep paying the same monthly rate ... so maybe after the dust settles.

Definitely ordering Series 2 Watches
