Thanks everyone. I need to concentrate on what should be a straight forward interview so for my self preservation I've stopped reading my own thread until after the interview. :)

Why does it make you laugh, think of the bigger picture
Some people have 2 wives, or many gfs, or might sleep with a married women, some people need to be so careful of Blackmail, Honey Trap. How well do you really know someone?
Unless you are with that person 24/7 it's all about trust.
having many kids would not make a difference, but if you got yourself into debt then that could become an issue.

would be am interesting place to work
https://www.mi5.gov.uk/

or maybe here
https://www.gchq.gov.uk/

or even here
https://www.sis.gov.uk/

Now if your safety was in their hands, would you NOT want to know they are 100% safe?
and on that note, that's it from me

You know.. I recall about 20 years ago a buddy of mine got some flack at a valve company he worked at for driving a SHO Taurus. They had a conservative image they wanted to portray to customers so you pretty much had five or six cars you could purchase for work. Crown Vic, Grand Marquis, Chevrolet Caprice, Ford Taurus and I'm sure there was some Dodge product like a Grand Fury maybe. But he did have to return the vehicle and get a regular one. I remember thinking how dumb it was at the time. So I guess depending on the business what you drive to an interview might matter.

and hair over the collar with no facial hair.

And after work happy hours only had Miller and Budweiser on tap unless you went to the "fancy" place that had Heineken.

To be honest NornIron91 has the most 'apt' analogy for this, he's mid 20s, driving a red mustang, went for a few interviews, and by the sounds of it, got offered two... Doubt they judged him on the car.
At the first one, one of the interviewers came out and sat in it lol

Tips on being yourself #2

Interviewer: So, do you have any questions you'd like to ask us.

You: Yes; what can you tell me that would convince me to take this job.

(This works better if you've turned up in Mustang)

There's two outcomes to this:

1) Interviewer is impressed, likes cars, or appreciates your "success" (people seem to validfy a 'nice' car as 'successful') therefore they value you highly, equally, they may like the car and that becomes a talking point, I know stevec has a few stories about his - he runs his own business with his 2 brothers.
I don't give a damn what car they turn up in. For me it is appearance and attitude that matter. Like others have said, changes are they wont see the car, so take the Mustang and at least you have that to enjoy on the way home if the interview don't go well!

thats what you think
but if you are a contractor, then you are not DV, cause if you are, then they have the right to look and ask any questions they want
But again, if the person has zero to hide, what is the big deal?

Depends on the job you do, and who you are dealing with
if you take your partner to a fancy restaurant you dress up smart,
do you turn up to a Wedding in jeans and t shirt?
It's about showing the person you have made the effort to dress smartly cause you are meeting them
