Interview Dilemma

If you came for an interview at my place, then you'd be being interviewed by a bunch of Bike & Car nutters - so bringing it would be a positive thing. If it went anything like my interview 14 years ago, then my skills in IT were 2nd to chat about F1, BTCC and motorsport in general.

But in all seriousness, I'd hope that those conducting the interview would judge the person and not the car that they arrived in!

I've interviewed a lot of people. There's no point in trying to pretend your a bean counting accountant type when your not..be yourself..if you're right for the job you'll get it either way...

Mustang as long it is hasn't got stickers/stripes.

Their company BMs and Mercs will cost more than your Mustang. It's not as if you're turning up in a pimped out Bentley.

Something else I have noticed too being in IT myself is IT people tend to drive fun cars. A ton of my IT co-workers drive things like WRX, Focus ST, BRZ, G8, Mustang GT etc so you would probably be completely fine taking the Mustang if IT people across the pond are like they are here in the states.

It's a tech company so they should be interested. It shows some individuality, some flair but also prudence. Also you are just smart (after all it's not like you bought a lhd Camaro or something). The Focus is a good car but it doesn't suggest you were particularly good at your previous jobs, or that you have an individual character. It's unlikely their cars cost less than your Mustang. Be yourself.

Tips on being yourself.

Interviewer: What would you say was your greatest weakness.
You: Honesty.
Interviewer: I wouldn't say honesty was a weakness.
You: I don't give a f:censored:k what you think.

Assuming you aren't going for the CEO job you won't be parking in sight of the office so take the car that's most suitable for the conditions and concerntrate on your interview prep and ironing your shirt instead of worrying about transport.

I've never heard of a car impacting a candidates employment chances unless it wasn't running.

I took my Mustang to 2 job interviews, got them both.
Bring whatever car you want, if they don't give you the job for driving a Mustang then it's probably a company you don't want to work for anyway.

Drive your mustang.

It's your car that you have worked hard for so why not drive it. It is something that could come up in conversation, mine does all the time.

Plus you can have a blast before your interview and afterwards.

If they see it and are unimpressed then fuck em.

We had a woman apply for a job who put in her 'Biography' that she was a Natural born 'Badass'

We brought her to interview because she came with high recomendations from respected members of staff.... She was honestly the nerdiest women ever, however, it's actually her humor. Very strange :lol:. She's probably one of our best change managers :lol::lol::lol:

Most of the written advice is a very sensible take the Focus which I must admit was not what I was expecting.

The poll result is a clear take the Mustang

Can't see past the Mustang... its your car, its part of who you are...Would you borrow a different car to take if you didn't have the option of the focus?

If somebody didn't hire you because you own a Mustang would you want to work for them anyway? Assuming "when" you get the job you'd use the mustang anyway?
