Mine happens when going over bumps and when the gps is active it almost sounds like static and a little bit of plastic rattle. Since most of us have this problem i m sure Ford will issue a TSB on this. This is the reason why i don't like hard plastic parts on the dash and doors even the 68b package couldn't save me lol

Its not just the presence of hard plastic. Its in the way they are put together. My mom has a Hyundai which has plenty of hard plastic and is turning 3 years old and is completely silent in the cabin.

Not a huge problem however , the turning knob for controlling the headlights, rattles like crazy at moderately high speeds and/or when bass from radio is playing. I can push it in and out with very little play. Also, but not always the 8in media screen has had movement noise coming from it sometimes.

Am I the only one with this first world problem ??
I have this exact same headlight switch vibration issue, it's driving me insane.

Same problem with vibration/rattling of headlight switch. A firm press suppresses the noise for a few seconds. Didn't know it was the headlight switch until pointed out, so my 2nd attempt to have the dealer fix it will be more assertive. Otherwise, no other noticeable noises/creaks/buzzing.

My drivers sound door panel sometimes rattles a bit when the music is at a very moderate (read not loud) volume. I haven't really tried to quiet it down, because it doesn't always happen. If it becomes more regular I'll take it in.

The dreaded headlight switch rattle hasn't happened to me yet.

Any update on this one guys? Whats the solution? Silicon spray, wd40, japanese glue, gorilla glue, banging on the dash, head butting the dash, shoryuken, hadouken what is it?
Problem solved. I stuck a screwdriver between the pillar and dash where they were rubbing together and squeaking/rattling. I wrapped the handle in ceramic leather so it looks like it belongs.

I've noticed a slight rattling from the passenger door, almost sounding like the door is loose in its hinges, when I go over heavy pavement. I had the same thing pop up (but way worse) in my S197's driver-side door around 30,000 miles. Not thrilled that it happened at 500 miles. We'll see.

I have a driver door rattle by the tweeter, but its not the speaker. I can press in the space between the door and the dash and it goes away. Rattles are super annoying.

Can I take it to any dealer to have them remove the door panels and check it out? Drives me bonkers

I have same thing. It's the speaker grill up high in door. I hate to bring it to them and wait for hours if I can fix myself but I don't really wanna pull the door panel off.

You are not helping  Ford hear us out:headbonk:
I hear you, Sasuketr! :ninja:

Have you taken your Mustang to the dealer for this yet? Let me know when you do so; please also include your name, best contact info, VIN, current mileage, and servicing dealer.

I have this exact same headlight switch vibration issue, it's driving me insane.
I suggest reaching out to my colleagues, Nikki and Kwasi, at FordServiceCA, who'll be able to best assist with concerns in Canada, Ehdrian.

Me too.

I want to order some adhesive velvet strips and go to town.
Let's see how I can help you forgo those velvet strips, smdandb2. Have you spoken with your dealer about this? Please shoot over a PM with your name, best contact info, current mileage, and servicing dealer.

Have you made an appointment for the 2nd attempt, myoozek? Let's see how I can help the get the noise quieted for longer than a few seconds; pass me a PM with your name, best contact info, VIN, current mileage, and servicing dealer.

Keep me posted if you decide to go to your dealer, JeffreyDJ. I'll just need the above requested info to see how I can help the music be all that you hear.

That's understandable, JimmyTwoTimes. Have you made an appointment with your dealer yet? Keep me posted and send a PM with the information requested above.

You definitely can take it to the dealer for diagnosis, McCringleberry. Please send me a PM with details requested above; let's get that rattle quieted.

I recommend making an appointment with your dealer, SVTFreak; I'll see how I can assist with shortening your wait time. I'll just need the specifics requested above.

I am getting an inconsistent rattle on my dash while driving and some rattling when I hit uneven patches of road. The latter, I am almost willing to let pass, but the buzzing I am getting for no reason is annoying.

I at first thought it was the trim ring around the tach but now I am not convinced. It is almost like the aluminum trim on the dash may be the culprit. I don't know how this is attached. If it is just clipped, maybe the clips need to be addressed.

I will bring it up, again, when I take my car in for the first oil change. Whatever they fixed before did not address the issue. Unfortunately, what they did do makes it occur less frequently.

Anyone else having a similar buzz for no reason that seems to come from the driver side dash?

UPDATE!! I can finally say that my headlight knob rattle has been eliminated !
The dealership mechanics replaced the knob piece(not the unit connected to it) and it seems to have stopped the issue completely! Now all I have is this common dash area rattle on uneven roads but I can live with this one !

The aluminum piece rattles/cracks on mine whenever I hit any bumps, accelerate, etc... and the rear right side (near the seatbelt) too.
I think this is my issue too. It isn't all the time, but when there is some vibration in the car, it rattles annoyingly.
