Intake Manifold Install

Hello All,
I have a 2015 GT Premium with 65000 miles on it. I noticed smoke from under the hood and saw it coming from the intake manifold. I tighten the bolts on both sides and it temporary went away. I did it again yesterday but I prolly need to have the gaskets replaced. I am pretty good mechanically but I m a little weary about doing them myself. What is the average repair price including labor and where should I purchase the gaskets from ? Also if someone has a instruction sheet on how to replace it would be greatly appreciated.

How do you like the f150 manifold
My opinions are on the F150 intake thread but for me it's been fantastic. Yeah you lose the top end rush I may use 5% of the time but I gain the low to mid range torque I enjoy 100% of the time.

shop charged me $75 when had f150 manifold put on. It took about 45 minutes. Of course the 2018 manifold install was more $ because it was more complex. It looked easy from what I saw. Good luck. I don't know of gaskets except the rubber ones in the manifold runners. Sounds like you have oil in the manifold. Do you have a canister installed to catch oil?

If you are a somewhat decent shade-tree mechanic, then removing/re-installing the intake manifold should be a piece of cake. Look for the CJ Pony Parts video on YouTube where they install a GT350 intake manifold on a GT.

Your removal/re-installation will be easier than the video I referenced above because you won't be making any hardware changes to the engine..., only replacing eight rubber gaskets.

Because there is no coolant running through the intake manifold, it really is quite easy. The only PITA, is disconnecting/re-connecting the IMRC's at the back of the manifold. Other than that it is super-easy. Should take you half-an-hour??

I also swapped an F-150 intake manifold on my GT, and it took me half an hour. Pics from my install below for reference.

I recall having a hard time removing those metal clips from some of the hoses but was trying with an ordinary set of pliers instead of the dedicated tool for them. Also, the lines that run under/through the intake runners were annoying (1 especially as it had a plastic circular piece that required filing down to a smaller size to push through the F150 mani).

Either way, you need to be able to deal with situations as you come across them. It took me way more than half an hour btw but it was the first time and I have a tray with different compartments that I put parts and whatnot into with a piece of paper identifying where they came from for when it's time to re-install back so I try to be thorough and organized.

Amazing fellas. Im going to sleep on this and decide this weekend. What are the torque specs for the bolts. When I tighten the bolts the one in the back was a PITA to tighten, Any particular rachet to get back there?
